December 31, 201411 yr The Bengals put him on injured reserve after he suffered a concussion last week against the Steelers. Sanzenbacher caught nine passes for 105 yards this year, but had an interception on a fake punt attempt by the Steelers last week. They filled his roster spot by promoting wide receiver Cobi Hamilton from the practice squad. He was with them in the preseason, and spent time on the Eagles practice squad also before returning to the Bengals in Week Six. Bengals put Dane Sanzenbacher on IR, add a wideout | ProFootballTalk
January 1, 201511 yr Not sure that this move matters. Dalton only checks one side of the field before forcing the ball toward AJ anyway. Seems like Sanzenbacker would be a great possession guy over the middle (ala Tom Brady with Edelman) but if the qb won't look your way.........
January 1, 201511 yr Author I hate to be so negative but I don't think Sanzenbacher has it. I like Wright and Hamilton better but I agree this isn't the best of times for newbies.

With Eifert out, would seem like a pair of steady hands would be a benefit. He may not be the most athletic guy but he seems like a guy that catches everything.
January 1, 201511 yr .... I still prefer going with Gio and Rex in the slots, which they did for a few plays on Sunday night.
January 1, 201511 yr Great Dane has skyrocket football IQ, that's why he's still around. Hope he bounces back.

January 1, 201511 yr Maybe Hellbird was was onto something earlier this year when he said the Bengals training staff and doctors suck. Obviously the whole Burfict thing. However what really hurts is the Eifert situation. We wasted an IR designated to return tag on him, when he never made it back. When I would bet Marvin Jones probably could have came back this year, however since we already used it on Eifert we weren't able to use it on Jones. Having Marvin Jones back would have been huge.
January 1, 201511 yr If you're a bengals fan, it'd be nice to have a decent TE. Never seen a guy false start or hold as much as Gresham. Not to mention that he always runs his routes two yards short of the sticks and then drops the ball or fumbles the ones he does catch.
