Were the 19 turnovers mainly in the halfcourt offense?

It's not the end of the world, but I'm sure the players and coaches are disappointed with outcome. Plenty of season left, just another game early in the season to learn from.

 

Actually not the end of the world at all. They proved what they came down there for, and that was to see if they could play with the best, and they did. Ben Weyer had a 3 pointer rattle out at the buzzer that would have won it.

Seems like that's been a common theme with Ballard/Perry in every game. He needs to be a serious Mr basketball candidate. He has put up some huge numbers every game against arguably better competition than any other candidate.

 

Newcath will be fine. These December games against Doss and Ballard will help them in the long run.

Not at all. They played 7 consistently all weekend. The bench is getting stronger and more confident every game. Erik Anderson just started playing afyer coming back from football. Brian Anderson is still out w an ankle injury. He will provide more defense and depth. McDonald and Weyer can run with the best of the post players. I'm sure the players are tired of hearing about "lack of depth". I'd rather be 7-8 solid and strong than 10 average but deep.

Quite a few, most from Pangallo, I can personally remember 3 in a very short time...2 over and backs, and one pass in the lane that went directly to a Ballard player, plus he missed a chippy or two down the stretch. They definitely let this one get away. I was so impressed with the McDonald kid through the whole Tourney. I like this team..They will be in contention for State!

Need to get out of the Region first but I agree, if they can get to Rupp they have a shot at winning it all.

How is that playing with any depth? I guess as long as they all stay healthy that will work. What happens when Pangallo or one of the main players gets in foul trouble like he did against Doss? Can they still play at such a high level when they play teams like Cov Cath/Trinity coming up?

FeelingGood. I am assuming your concern is the fact 4 players played extensive minutes. I'm sure the coaching staff would love to give them more rest, however I'm not sure Doss was the right game. One of the Andersons was hurt. If healthy, he would have logged minutes bringing the total to 8 players.

 

Fact is NCC is a small school and just does not have the luxury to bring a second PG or Big off the bench without dropping in productivity. I'm sure the coaches are working with the younger players in PRACTICE and when/if ready will see the varsity floor.

 

Pangallo was in foul trouble and he needs to stay on the floor. Not many better PGs, so I'm stating the obvious. Even with Pangallo out, this team only lost by 3.

 

This applies to most teams. If Holmes loses Bolden are they as good? Spaulding for Trinity?

 

Just curious, how many players would have to see the floor to eliminate your depth concerns?
