It shouldn't matter who your dad is if you are putting together the best possible roster. As far as a wing t offense you would think they would consider something fun for the kids to run. And I think McKee is a quality coach but he needs to stop with the politics and favoritism. Tough to get kids to take the game serious when even they can notice the favor that certain individuals are receiving. I guess it's who you know and not about fielding the best team to get the W.

They won last year even though the TN was much bigger. The roster is stacked with over 20 All Staters. The kids take this game very serious.

Wondering why a few 1st team all state kids were not invited?

A coach has to nominate the kid first.

 

HC can pick some that are nominated and a committee picks the rest. Usually local kids or a dads kid who has connections with a committee person or national guard person

Did your son not get picked?....mine didn't either but hey I knew EVERY guy on the committee and it did not help. Honestly would not have wanted him on it if I had resorted to using "politics"

Stop throwing that "politics" thing out there, it is just not true. The guys who run this bowl work hard to put on a nice event for the kids and the fans. It is some thing they work on year around and it cost a pretty penny to put on the event. It has gotten bigger and bigger and will continue to grow.

 

It does look like another cold week and cold day for the game as you look ahead at the forecast.

 

Come out and support Kentucky as they try and put another L on the Tenn All Stars.

The guys do a good job putting this bowl on, it's first class...I know all of them and I promise you they select the kids as fair as possible...

2. I have never been in a meeting.

3. I am however very good friends with almost everyone on the board and they sweat this out every year. I also know that they can't take someone not nominated due to the fact that there are releases that have to be signed, uniform sizes, ring sizes, etc. that have to be taken care of before a kid can take the field.

4. I do also know that there have circumstances where a player has been added late due to other players not showing up.

5. I also find it very interesting that one or two year always throw out the politics thing. Certainly if you have better way of filling a roster by all means contact the board, I am sure their contact information is on the site.

Sure there are some kids that are not on the roster that anyone could make an argument for being on the team and i'm sure in a perfect world they would be but the board works in a very small time frame and has to deal with players going to other all-star games, and they also have to work around basketball too.

 

Why not cut them a break and give them a pat on the back for giving these kids a chance to showcase their talents.

I agree it's a first class bowl and have heard they treat the players very well.

Without naming the kid, there is a kid on the roster who was NOT nominated by his coach, that is a fact. And sad to say he isn't deserving because he isn't good enough, that is true. Many more kids are better than him, but daddy pulled a few strings with National Guard.

It's a 50 man roster. I have no idea if it has happened, but if a kid or 2 was added just as a favor, I can't really say I have a problem with it.

The game will be streaming live on ESPN3. It will be also televised on select TV channels in eastern ky and Tn.

I was hoping this one was going to be shown on TV again in my area.
