What is it that gives Oregon the edge? I'm actually curious. To be a 9 point favorite is an absolute joke. Is it based off the fact that they score a lot of points against mediocre defenses or what? The Pac 12 doesnt have very many solid defenses, if any. Maybe it's me just being an FSU homer, but I don't think Oregon can beat the Noles.

They put up 40 sum on Michigan State who is famous for defense. As mediocre as the PAC12 defenses are Oregon has played better teams than FSU in most people's mind.

FSU's perception is due to their lack of domination in a league in which the historically three best teams were down (Clemson, Notre Dame, Miami). Add in FSU and OK State who barely made a bowl and FSU wasn't able to make a statement in really any game this year.

Perhaps the perception is unfair but it makes sense. Add in that FSU's weakness is in defending the run and I can see where they would be considered an underdog.

However that spread is a slap in the face.

The run is their weakness and that's obvious. But the way they've been able to adjust in every game is nothing short of unbelievable. It may take them a few series to get used to Oregon's offense, but I don't see Oregon throwing up more than 30. And when Jameis score when Jameis is on the field, they're never out of it. Also I can see that spread dwindling down after Oregon loses all American CB to a torn ACL.
