November 30, 201411 yr Christmastime at my parents' place means Mom is pulling out all her hand-me-down German baking recipes. She makes a ton of candy, cookies and other baked goods during this time. Personal favorites include her ginger cookies and molasses cookies, homemade carmels and white chocolate-covered pretzels, as well as raisin bread and lemon poppyseed bread.

November 30, 201411 yr That sounds incredible! Amazing it hasn't killed me yet. Gotta drop a few pounds the next few weeks to get prepared for the sugar shock.
December 1, 201411 yr Scalloped oysters.. I do them at Christmas though. We do a traditional dinner for Thanksgiving. Christmas dinner is allways up in the air, its usually a Prime rib and some seafood dishes though.
December 1, 201411 yr Super simple, but we dip the little square waffle-shaped pretzels in the melted white candy bark (dip them in halfway by hand) and then set them to cool on wax paper. You can make hundreds of them in no time and they are so yummy!
