November 27, 201411 yr 14 year old MLB reporter says he had a source tell him Cespedes had been traded to the Reds. Within 30 minutes, he apologized and he said he shouldn't have trusted his source. Although, the kid did break the Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval deal.
November 27, 201411 yr The 14 yr old broke it but then took it back. But let us recall that the same kid was the first to say Sox got Panda and Hanley.
November 27, 201411 yr Author @mlb_nl_al: BREAKING: Yoenis Cespedes traded to the Cincinatti Reds, not sure of rest of the details @mlb_nl_al: UPDATE: Cespedes not a red. My source just told me this "Deal is close, ongoing, but I apologize, not quite accepted.Jumped the gun" @mlb_nl_al: I extremely apologize for my tweets regarding Yoenis. My source took this to far, and I trusted him . I am sorry. RT THIS @mlb_nl_al: Of course am extremely apologetic. This will no longer be one of my sources. I'm sorry. @mlb_nl_al: Again, extremely sorry for Cespedes take. Wasn't told correctly, and this wasn't my Red Sox source. This was a Reds source.Clearly unreliable

November 27, 201411 yr Author 14 years old? What's his name? Leatherpants Jr.? On the kid's Twitter account, it says his name is Byron Wesley.
November 27, 201411 yr It certainly looks like the Red Sox will move Cespedes. He could help the Reds out in LF but I'm sure they'd be looking for pitching in return.
November 28, 201411 yr I think acquiring Cespedes for a guy like Leake would be a good move for the Reds, if they can pull it off. I would think Leake would be more favorable to the Sox than Latos, due to the fact that he'd be much cheaper to resign after next season, if they chose to do so.

I would think Leake would be more favorable to the Sox than Latos, due to the fact that he'd be much cheaper to resign after next season, if they chose to do so. But for next season Latos would be a lot better than Leake, assuming both are healthy. The Red Sox don't necessarily have to trade Cespedes for a player that they control longterm. He's an extra part right now. If I had the choice of turning that into Latos or Leake for one year I'd take Latos every time. Your reasoning is really faulty here. Why not trade him for Latos and THEN sign Leake after the year if Latos walks? I don't think the Reds would trade Latos for Cespedes with Cespedes also being a free agent after this season. But I bet the Red Sox would do it in a second. I don't think they would with Leake.

You trade him for Latos and he misses significant time, it's a complete waste. Leake is going to be healthy.
November 29, 201411 yr I will say that Cespedes' offensive numbers in Cincinnati would be unreal. Cincinnati won't help his .298 OBP--but that kind of OBP would fit in well with the rest of the Reds.
November 30, 201411 yr If all it takes is Leake as the center piece for the trade, where do I sign up?
