8th Region questions

Featured Replies

A few years ago Cornerstone Christian in Shelbyville was going to join the KHSAA but their numbers dropped off and they abandoned the idea. They actually had some pretty good teams for a couple of years and defeated quite a few KHSAA teams including Henry County and Eminence in the 8th Region.

Yep they had to abandoned the idea because of numbers dropping. To be honest they really didn't have the numbers to ever really pull it off. But they compete well in the league they are in.

No private schools in the 8th. I wonder what other regions can say the same thing?

I don't think there are any in the 12th off the top of my head.

Private school kids from the 8th goto private schools in Louisville..

They might from Oldham County and one or two more,,but I am sure you have none from Grant,Boone.or Kenton Counties..........

I hate that SK is in the 8th to long of a drive for region, even district games.

Yes, it is spread out. From a competitive stand point not a bad place to be, the 8th is not one of the stronger regions right now..

I believe realignment is happening next year which would affect the 8th or 5th. I know the Bullitt County Schools want out of the Louisville regions.

There are some Shelby & Oldham kids at private schools in Louisville.

What are some of the rumored changes in the 8th as far as teams coming/going and changing district?

Losing the Oldham County schools to the 7th, getting the Frankfort schools. Bullitt county schools going to 5th, 6th getting some of the Louisville schools from the 7th.

What about the 10th or 9th anything happening to those regions?

I could see all the Kenton County schools ending up in the same region the 9th or 10th.

Not to say it won*t happen,,but these rumors have been floating around for several years..

That would make sense. Correct me if I am wrong there are three high schools in the county in three different regions. I could see them all being in the 9th just for travel reasons. That would make more sense to me than placing them all in the tenth. :idunno:

They were all in the 9th at one time..

Frankfort schools have been coming to the 8th region for about 40 years.
