I graduated in 2001, we didn't have air conditioning in the entire school until my senior year. Not saying they are the same demographically, I do see your point. Just pointing out that all the nicer campus you see at Trinity is a recent thing, due largely to donations and funding drives. T does have some wealthy donors though.

Wow, I was assuming you guys had AC for a long time...Sorry about that!

Anyway, I do appreciate what you have to say about fund raising and know that it does work, but you have to have the greater economic base, which Meade does not. yada...

I've just read all 9 pages of this thread. Being a life long Greenwave, I just want to say how proud I am of my team and our facilities. I hope you feel welcome in Death Valley and have a good experience, except for the final score of course. I have the utmost respect for Trinity football. You guys are always a very good team with such a storied tradition. It will be fun to see where my county boys stack up with Trinity. I'm not going to predict a score but I promise we will play tough hard nosed old fashioned football on both sides of the ball. I hope that's good enough to come out with a victory. We shall see Friday night. GO BIG GREEN!

Absolutely! Well said! I hope for the best against this awesome foe -- and have some pretty controversial posts about it -- but don't think I do not admire Trinity's record and tradition. To play at this level of competition is an honor! (I just hope I was right lololol...)

The difference is:

A. Carmel is MUCH BETTER then Meade County, and

B. Trinity is playing much better offensively then they were then.

If we're going to play the comparison game then let's go back to Male. THey shut Meade out.

A. Remains to be seen.

B. So is Meade.

Referring to Male: We had key people out of that one. There's a post somewhere in here about that.

A. Remains to be seen.

No it doesn't...

No it doesn't...

Yeah, it does. All rankings are biased to the one with the greater tradition. And if we only look at the rankings, Meade never ever ever ever should have beaten HC and Central Hardin consecutively since they were both ranked higher.

Meade County is not better than Carmel. Even if Meade County beats Trinity, that still doesn't make them better than Carmel.

Ha ha yes sir, but we were the home dog and BG was 21 point favorite. Sorry, wasn't an attempt to put salt in a wound. Hey, Graves got this whole thing rolling with a win at McCracken. We have great respect for the Purples! All that aside, I looked back and I think I took your comment wrong about the Trinity/Meade game. I thought you were saying "win here and you win state". Looks like "win special teams and you win the game"?

No worries Glory. That's what happened. Best of luck to both teams. Wish I could make it.

Not saying Meade is better, if we were, we would be ranked at least #20..... But what we're saying is that those rankings don't really matter much. HC, Central, and Scott were all ranked ahead of Meade, and are not playing this Friday. I think some folks try to put to much faith in numbers on paper. Sure if the game was played on paper, Meade would have been out after round 1, but it's played on the field. Not saying that were GOING to win necessarily, but I do like our chances.

You should like your chances, your team is in the semi-Finals. They obviously have a very good team this year. How many times has there been a very good KY team that's had a stellar season and gotten steam rolled by Trinity? I'm not saying that will be the case Friday, but we've heard that song and dance before. Regardless, I'm sure it will be a hard fought game by both teams.

You circumvented my logic entirely with your own brand of speculation. Oh well...

Hopefully it would prove to you that Meade was at least better than Trinity lolololol

Saying that a nationally ranked team is better than one that isn't nationally ranked isn't speculation. You can say what you want about those rankings, but they aren't just pulled out of thin air.

Obviously if Meade beats Trinity, they are the better team this year.

Oops, yeah I forgot Scott Co. --> HC, Scott Co., Central Hardin all were ranked higher than Meade. Geez, those rankings sure are reliable! :) (Just trying to prove a point here...)

But it's still ALWAYS speculation. The proof is in the pudding.

And yes, that's exactly right: if Meade beats Trinity then they are better -- for that game. Everything is contemporary, and rankings are based on shifting outcomes and speculation. Otherwise known as probabilities. Anyway...

From Jason Frakes at the Courier Journal:

* Next week: Winner will face Ballard-Dixie Heights winner in Class 6-A final at 7 p.m. EST Saturday at Western Kentucky University.

* Trinity — No. 1 in the state in The Courier-Journal’s Litkenhous Ratings — was dominant on defense last week, posting eight sacks, forcing four turnovers and holding rival St. Xavier to minus-15 rushing yards in a 9-3 victory. Senior linebacker Brenton Ervin had three sacks and now has a team-high 8 ½ this season. Senior Donald Brooks (1,308 yards, 18 touchdowns) leads the rushing attack, but junior Jailen Reed has given Trinity a solid second option and rushed for four TDs through three playoff games.

* Meade County, last year’s state runner-up to Scott County, knocked off previously unbeaten Central Hardin 30-8 last week. Senior quarterback John Wilson carried 28 times for 137 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for 79 yards and two TDs. Senior Tyler Addesa added 114 yards on 26 carries. The Green Wave’s defense has been stingy all season, allowing just 11.2 points per game and posting five shutouts. Male beat Meade County 17-0 on Oct. 3.

* Quotable: “A lot of it has to do with being healthy,” Trinity coach Bob Beatty said of his defense. “We had a young man (defensive back Luke Eskins) who’s a sophomore … who now has 12 games under his belt. So he’s not a rookie anymore. We have (safety) Alex Reisert healthy. We have (safety) Canon Jackson healthy. It’s a huge difference.”

* The pick: Trinity 24-10.

I'm confused by the Meade Co qb stat line in the above.

"Carried 28 times for 137 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for 79 yards and two tds."

So is the second stat passing? 28 carries is a lot for a qb and 54 rushing attempts in a game is a pretty large amount.
