Here is What Lake Effect Snow Looks Like

Featured Replies

I have an office in East Aurora near Buffalo. They closed yesterday and today. 4' and were expecting 2' more. 20 minutes away got nothing. They also closed the Buffalo port. Crazy snow!

Growing up, we watched Cleveland tv. I remember my sister and I seeing them calling for 8, 10, maybe 12 inches or more of snow on multiple occasions, and us thinking "No school tomorrow!" Then, we'd wake up the next day and have maybe an inch or two and still have school. Took us awhile to realize that lake effect didn't impact us 50-60 miles south!

I guess it's all about what you get used to...but really, how in the world do you deal with that type of snow? I couldn't imagine waking up and having to do something about 3 to 4 foot of snow, so much so that you have to tunnel your way out the door before you even start thinking about doing something about it. It's crazy.

That's ridiculous and stupid. I hate winter.

How do you live in a place like that and not have a storm door?

Good thing they don't or they would not been able to get out of their house to shovel a tunnel.

I agree

One place in Buffalo got 65", and three miles away at the airport, just over 6".

My friend All In is packing his bags as we speak.

Storm doors open outward. You'd never get out.

Although I can't even begin to count the number of times I entered or exited the house via a window.
