Saw a protest leader on CNN earlier saying he expects the police to do what he tells them since he pays their salary.

Sadly, I say within a few hours we will have at least one death during rioting over night. Because of people that you saw on TV.

I have zero comments on this on FB. Must have already unfriended or unfollowed those who use FB as an echo chamber.

 

I thought it was just me. But I haven't unfollowed or unfriended anyone ever. The only one I've seen who has had anything to say about it is a friend that lives in St. Louis. He's a minister there and I haven't seen anything untoward in his posts.

As sad as it is I would bet almost anything that these idiotic protesters are hoping the officer is acquited.

I don't see how protests hundreds and thousands of miles away from a situation helps. If it did, I would protest the senseless killings that go on daily in places like Chicago, NY, LA, etc. Then again, it wouldn't be "media friendly" to protest those.

 

 

I'm not really sure I follow what you're getting at. People as a whole don't have the funding to just jet set across the country, but that doesn't mean that their protest won't have an effect on the overall situation regardless of where they carry it out.

 

Under your premise, protesting situations too remotely from the area where the action is would mean that there are no protests of foreign wars, that people in Oregon, Montana, and Washington shouldn't protest things happening in Washington D.C., etc. If nothing else, it shows support for the issue, should it arise in their own backyard and gives the public at large a head-count of who stands where should that occur.

 

Kind of nitpicking with this one, but I don't think Chicago and St. Louis are too far removed from one another. Both are large, older Midwestern cities. Given New York's policies like "stop and frisk" and the like, I can see why the black community there would want to protest if they believed they were right in doing so because the issue is bigger than "an unarmed kid in St. Louis was killed, but I live in Chicago, so that will never happen to me'.

Example: Adrian Peterson's child abuse case had one (or possibly even two) grand jury(ies) fail to indict him, but finally got one. Same with Dwight Howard's rumors. A Florida grand jury didn't indict, but the wife is taking it to Georgia (or maybe vice-versa).

If Obama and the Brown family really wanted peace, then they would just say the officer acted in self defense and the kid made a bad choice in confronting the police, and a worse decison to strong arm rob a store, which led to the bad choice of confronting the police, and the media is blowing this up to a race riot and it's making the black community in Ferguson look bad.

Seems that is the truth anyway from everything I have read, but it will never be said and we will have what Sharpton, Jackson, and the media want.

Listening to the prosecutors he is acquitted. He already has said about the false claims made etc.
