Ronnie Carson

So I'm confused, I heard once that he was enrolled at Scott County and now I'm hearing he's at Bryan Station. Which is it?

How can a kid who did not successfully pass the 11th grade if I read this correctly be eligible to play this year? I was told the reason he left Scott Co is because he could not get eligible, how is it he is now amazingly going to be eligible in Fayette County schools. Are there different guidelines for them than the rest of the state. This is just confusing.

He's a redshirt senior.

Per the KHSAA by-laws, one of the automatics for INELIGIBILITY at a new school is if the kid would have been ineligible at his previous school. Even if the previous school had standards that were above the KHSAA minimums. I think Carson would have been ineligible at both East and Scott. I can't see how he will be eligible but stranger things have happened.

Edited out the initials of Bryan Station which is a word filter violation

Depends on whether he was off track to graduate or if his GPA didn't meet the requirements of the school.

I am guessing that he can recover the credits that he lacks to become eligible in this semester and then apply to be eligible in the second semester. He could recover these credits through online classes. Not sure on their district policy for how many can be recovered per semester, but 2 would seem very feasible.

Bylaw 5 Section 2 b)

Too much to type in that bylaw

There have always been Ronnie Carson stories through the 12th Region. I hope he can get his things together for himself. Not just for his eligibility but for his future. Ronnie is a very talented individual and I wish him nothing but good luck and success in the classroom and on the court. I hope he has learned or is learning from the situation he is in now.

From what I know, RC is enrolled at Bryan Station and I hope this kid gets eligible.

Boy sure doesn't say much for the STUDENT athletes that do it the right way. Of course the KHSAA has allowed everything to be questioned and argued and somehow bend a bit. Hope the kid takes his 2nd chance and makes the most of it.
