I guess anything is possible. Keep in mind that everyone spent this entire season saying no one would ever beat the super district or Scott Co in 6A this year. That's the argument they made against SK so I'd assume they'd say the same for DH.

 

Exactly. And as a DHHS fan I'm not even discussing any kind of a state title and only focusing on the game in front of them. To get a sniff toward semis they might have to knock off Ryle or SK or maybe both again to get there and that could be tough doing it twice in a season. They had a great chance back when they knocked off Trinity, had a very good team that year only to come home and loose a close one to Boone.

I could be wrong, and I'm sure I'll be corrected, but I always thought public schools in an open enrollment district had a limited number of spots. And not trying to pick a fight here, but doesn't Trinity also allow Indiana residents to enroll?

I agree...if they want to be considered good. I agree 100% with your statement and they don't like hearing it from me because I'm a HHS guy. What they don't realize is I would back them just as much when they would play the big boys if I had something to sink my teeth into. But getting in a discussion about how good SK is with any of the top teams is like going to a gun fight with a pocket knife. That's not being mean, how in the world could I defend my position of them being good with the resume they have? Again, not trying to be mean, but the big boys would laugh at me and tell me to scoot. To your point, if you want respect from the state, you have to earn it and that happens by playing and competing with good teams.

 

This is why I would love for them to play a better schedule...because even in a loss, there is a way to judge just how good they are. They are hanging their hat on playing HHS next year...that's a good start, but I need more than just that. Heck Owensboro hung with BG and everyone thought they were a lock to make it to the finals and now some are second guessing. Heck, Greenwood just hung with BG two weeks ago. Not knocking that at all...my point...Anything can happen in one game and only having one challenging game on the schedule is better, but still not there yet.

Having seen them play only once this year I dont feel they are nearly as talented as SK or Dixie this year. Dixie is hungry to get to state and dont think they have been there since 85. There is some great football up in NKY and I see all the classes from there doing well this year.

So long as you pay tuition, Trinity, X, DeSales, Holy Cross, Christian Academy, Cov Cath, New Port Cath, etc. could care less where you choose to live.

Depends on the school district.

 

- BELFRY had a kid(s) from West Virginia when it beat Elizabethtown for the class football title.

 

- MIDDLESBORO had basketball player Stuart Miller, who loved in Tennessee.

 

- FORT CAMPBELL has several athletes/students with Tennessee addresses

 

Not sure of any particular Hoosiers who attend public school in the Ville, but there have been some in the past who attended X, T, etc.

 

Also don't know why Indiana would have a rule stopping kids from attending Kentucky public schools but not Kentucky private schools. Not a whole lot of "pros" in favor of a rule like that.

Then why was there so much fuss when Fairview had players from WV a couple of years ago? Didn't they get sanctions from KHSAA for stuff that T and X do as a matter of fact?

There used to be Indiana kids enrolled in JCPS for Shawnee's aviation magnet and they were paying tuition. Not sure anymore after the school went through transformation.

Out-of-state kids attending Ky. public schools are eating up Ky. tax dollars. Not so if they are attending Ky. private schools.

Not trying to start anything but I can assure you that Dixie nor SK could stay within 2 TDs of any of the top teams on the other side of the bracket. Scott Co would beat them both. Dixie would give them a better game but neither of them can beat the Cards.
