I think so. The only chance for District 1 is McCracken and that's more because Manual has such a long trip.

McCracken has a decent shot. From a talent standpoint they should compete, at least, but, IMO, the 4 teams in the Super District are likely the 4 best teams in the state, regardless of class, so, even if the Stangs play up to there potential, they could still lose by a a couple of scores.

McCracken can not beat one of the supers because they don't have enough players. I've seen it happened to Henderson three years in a roll. Run out of gas at the end. Losses in region title games Lou butler 31-24 in ot after leading 24-10 going into 4th. Lou male 14-7 in ot after leading 7-0 the whole game until 3 mins to go. You have to be able to play 30 to 40 guys. Yes McCracken has 20 really good ones but just not enough in 6-a. Last year should show that 6-a is very hard to win a game when they got beat by central Hardin. Manuel wins 28-21.

It is possible that Manual may have Michael Nero back. By most accounts I'm familiar with, he is considered the best RB in Jefferson County.

This makes them a serious dark horse in the playoffs.

kids are saying Nero had a partial tear and not complete. Perhaps he is bionic. Perhaps he has bad advice. Perhaps he is just living in the moment. Nero at partial strength helps Manual's offense. Why risk it?

Anyone that is a "fan" enough to read these boards understands what McCracken is up against. Southaven, MS is every bit as good as Manual if not better. It will also take as great a performance as that game to beat Manual.

The Rams haven't left Jefferson County since a Nov. 2012 playoff trip to Madison Central that they lost. That said the Rams will get butted by the Mustangs. With all due respect to the other Jefferson County districts, they are irrelevant to championship discussions.

It is crazy that Scott County has the best record in the district and ends up with the 3 seed. Same thing happened to Cooper on their State Runner Up year of 2012. I know there is one more week and not sure how it will shake out depending on this week but if they end up with the best record and traveling that is unfortunate.
