October 21, 201411 yr So says ESPN. I guess they didn't take too kindly to Kobe calling them idiots. This is as damning an article that I have ever read about a player of Kobe's caliber. Is Kobe Bryant the reason for the Los Angeles Lakers' downfall?

October 22, 201411 yr Take angst with the article and how it was written, but facts are facts. NO ONE was interested in LA and NO ONE will be until Kobe is gone! Kobe stills wants to be Kobe, he will do everything in his power to prove he has lost nothing, meaning "Give me the damn Ball". But to me, that is not the biggest factor. Kobe is old school, which is what makes him so great to the purists. BUT - today's players are NOT old school. I won't say that most are as soft as D-Howard when Kobe challenged him, but DH is closer to today's players than what Kobe's mental attitude it. There is no player that will go to LA and take the challenges that Kobe will present to them. The NBA is closer to a love-fest and an attitude tough as nails game that most of us grew up with. October 22, 201411 yr I think a lot of the article is fair and most likely accurate. It says a lot that no other star chose LA. He also seems like a teammate that is not fun to have or to be around for 82 games. His contract demands will ensure that his career ends with a thud.

Unless you think the author is lying, it is agents and other GM's that are trashing Kobe. I believe it is true because nobody wanted to go to LA this offseason. The LAL used to be the team that big time players flocked to. Not now. I do think it is not ALL Kobe's fault though. Buss's son not hiring Phil makes the front office look bad. A lot of players and agents may not want to deal with that as well.
October 22, 201411 yr So Bynum and Howard are the guys you are using as sources here? Not the 2 most reliable guys. How did the chemistry look for the last 2 teams Bynum played on? Howard was a terrible fit from the start with Kobe. Super serious ultra competitive guy and then you have Howard. It's no secret Kobe isn't the easiest guy to get along with. The Lakers aren't going to do any damage during FA until Kobe is gone for a number of reasons. The main reason being that team needs a complete overhaul. Put Howard, Melo, or even Lebron on the Lakers and that's still not a team that's getting out of the West. I think they all see that, including Kobe. Edited October 22, 201411 yr by HammerTime
