No argument there. I hoped they would be competitive but we all knew that contract would restrict them.

Sure, some of the blame can be placed on Kobe but I don't believe for a second if this team was one piece short of a Championship caliber team the Lakers wouldn't be able to get that superstar in free agency. The makeup of this team hasn't been good for a while now in stacked West conference. It's not exactly an attractive destination even without Kobe. Next summer should be pretty interesting.

Well, that's exactly the question - WHO was coming. So, the Lakers have ALL that money and they decided - no, we WONT GO AFTER ANYONE! So, with all that money, you tell me, WHO DID THEY GET???

 

They got NO ONE! And you can't say there were not better free agents out there that was better then what they got. You mean to tell me that guys like Shawn Marion would take less money to go to Cleveland than to go to LA?
