Some fun stats about the rivalry

 

- This will be the 135th meeting between the 2 schools. Bellevue leads the series 89-42-3

 

- If you don't know know "the battle of the paddle" started in 2007 between the 2 schools and the winner recieves a paddle inscribed with the results and keeps it til the next meeting between the schools.

 

- Dayton won the first paddle and lost to Bellevue ever since. Bellevue has won 7 straight vs Dayton.

 

- While it's not the oldest rivalry in Kentucky (Manuel vs Male) I believe it is the most played game between 2 teams.

This is one game of the year that I always make no matter the circumstances. If you went to one of the school you probably feel the same way. While it hasn't been competitive of here lately, no complaint here I'm a Bellevue alum, I would like to see some good games between the 2. Maybe this will be the year Dayton will keep it close. Not trying to disrecpect Dayton there but just stating facts. That being said, I think Bellevue wins.

Always a great battle. I still remember the years they would open the season and close the season against each other.

Good question. I don't know. Second game is a district game

I think the game's closer than it's been over the past few years and feel that Dayton has a shot at beating the black and gold. Dayton played Ludlow well and lost it at the end. Go Devils!!!

I agree with you about playing twice; was a lot funner.

Playing twice was great and glad that both teams will get a Home game every year next year. Would also like to see Bellevue play Newport every year.

 

Being at Bellevue makes this one tough for Dayton. Might be able to keep it close for awhile but Bellevue balance on offense makes it too difficult for Dayton.

 

If Lee Corso was on hand again to make a prediction he would put the Tiger head on again.

Bellevue will also be playing Newport next season.

They get a new paddle yet?? Worst so called "trophy" I have ever seen in my life!! The kids deserve better.
