God, I love The Who

Featured Replies

People talk about whether you're a "Beatles Man" or a "Stones Man." I just tell them I'm a ""Who Man."

And don't ever disrespect how badass Pete Townshend is. He shreds better than all your faves. And your faves can't do the windmill.

"From you, I get opinions. From you, I get the story. Listening to you, I get the music."

I just realized that The Who were describing you, Jim! :D

I don't know why, but I figured you for a Who hater, Jim. They seem too main stream for you.

Immediately went to Youtube. Actually a big fan of Face Dances album (Another Tricky Day, Did you Steal My Money). Morphed over to Townsend still trying to figure out why Face Dances was not on Face Dances. Finished up with this gem from Pete:

Dang Jim, I almost started this exact thread a few weeks ago. I agree, and think the who are kind of left out when talking about the British Invasion bands. As far as musically gifted is concerned I think they may be the best of them all and I am definitely a fan.

I have to admit when I first saw the thread title I thought it said, "God, Who I Love"...then I saw Jim started it and I re-read

I'll take The Who ALL DAY over the Stones!

Gotta admit, used to not be a huge Stones fan. Over the last ten years, I've been fond of their harder stuff, funky beats and their country stuff.

The idea that I automatically hate everything mainstream is a common misconception.

Beatles, Stones, the Who and Zepp. Mount Rushmore.

I think most would agree with you on that...I'd have The Clash on top of the Mountain planting a Flag though!

Cream HAS to be in there somewhere in my opinion...one of the best ever if only for a short time. The Gale Sayers of hard rock.

You just say that because that thought about you is Mainstream :)
