October 19, 201411 yr I think Jimbo was bailed out. They last series they had the ball he played not to lose and it almost bit him in the rear.
October 19, 201411 yr Right call. #20 screwed up. Just needed to brush him and it is a TD. Jameis is not my kind of kid but he sure can play. Like I said in the NFL thread. Jameis the football player give me anytime. Jameis the non-football player :poop:
October 19, 201411 yr He didnt show he was trying to get free. Had he it was a TD. Check out @SearsMike's Tweet:
October 19, 201411 yr Check out @SearsMike's Tweet: Hard to get free when defender has your jersey as photo shows
October 19, 201411 yr Author Check out @SearsMike's Tweet: And the second WR at the top who did the same thing? BTW, he had his jersey in basically that second only. He did it trying to pull him to get free.
October 19, 201411 yr He didnt show he was trying to get free. Had he it was a TD. Defender showed no attempt to get to the flat. That was a man to man battle that had 0 impact on the play. FSU blew coverage and got lucky.
October 19, 201411 yr And the second WR at the top who did the same thing? BTW, he had his jersey in basically that second only. He did it trying to pull him to get free. Again it was 8 on 20 man to man. Bad call. That isn't called on a neutral field.

The media, which loves to harp on FSU BTW, has basically unanimously agreed with the call. Lou Holtz himself in all his senile glory agreed with it and that's a guy that hasn't said a cross word about Notre Dame in who knows how long. Doesn't answer about the top WR who began blocking before the ball was in the air BTW. And the neutral field bit, not a justification. If it's a flag anywhere it should be a flag period.

Notre Dame Got Screwed in Tallahassee by the Referees | The Big Lead Wrong again watch this replay and breakdown. FSU defender engaged contact first and had ahold of ND jersey from start of the play all the way into the end zone. Like Mex said the DB for FSU was engaged defending the wide out and was making no attempt to go after Robinson until he had the ball. Blown call on a penalty that is never called that ruined a great game. ND leaves with a loss after out playing FSU at FSU . But like I said if ND drops out of top 5 it's a crime.

I didn't say the bottom DB didn't engage first, merely that the pulling of the jersey that you were noting was in that one second. It STILL does not address the second WR at the top who blocked before the ball was in the air. If you would like to argue that one as not often being called, I don't disagree. But it happened.

The point is you can't penalize an offensive player for not getting out of the way if the defender is holding him for the entire 5 yards into the end zone. The defender was making no attempt to make a play on Robinson he was engaged with the WR he didn't see Robinson until it was to late.

Top receiver wasn't called. It was on 20. He had 8 on him mam to man. 8 jammed him and was not even attempting to get to the flat. Wrong call, bad call
October 19, 201411 yr Author Again. Top receiver wasn't called. It was on 20. He had 8 on him mam to man. 8 jammed him and was not even attempting to get to the flat. Wrong call, bad call I've tried to listen to who the penalty was on about five times already. We know that the announcers think it was on 20, but I can't find any confirmation of that. If you want to make the argument that it was wrong if it was called on 20, so be it. You and I both know that was the play, the play was designed for those guys to block. And 7 blocked before the ball was in the air. If we ever find out who it officially was on, then we can determine who was right. Do you deny 7 blocked before the ball was in the air?

Do you deny 7 blocked before the ball was in the air? 7 was never engaged and simply was in the way . That has never been called. My beef is still that a flag was thrown on offensive for engaging when the defender was the first to engage and never made a move to the flat until he saw he made a mistake at the last second. There is no way the ref watched those two from start to finish.
