Seahawks Trade Percy Harvin To Jets

Featured Replies

I read that he had some fights. He just doesn't seem worth the financial investment nor the baggage.

Just read one article where it said he gave Golden Tate a black eye before the Super Bowl last year.

Reports: Harvin fought teammates, took himself out on Sunday | ProFootballTalk

includes the following:

"As the shocking trade of Percy Harvin to the Jets continues to dominate the NFL news cycle, reports from Seattle indicate that the Seahawks simply decided they couldn’t tolerate Harvin’s misbehavior, which included multiple fights with teammates and a refusal to play late in Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys."

Sounds like addition by subtraction. Bold move by the Seahawks. Would most teams do this? Bengals?

I also agree. To answer your question about the Bengals, doubtful.

Sounds like Urban Meyer should be even more happy now that he had someone like Tebow, because a lot of his top players he had at Florida keep getting bad reputations for their behaviors.

Not most teams would, and to think other wise is probably just silly. The Seahawks know they can do this because they made it to the Super Bowl last year without him. So they know with or without him they have a team capable of getting there still. So it makes it easy to get rid of someone like that, when you are still fine without him.

Not bringing Golden Tate back looks like an even worse decision now. I like Kearse and Baldwin, but not sure either one can be "the" guy.

Probably couldn't afford to bring him back. They still have to pay Wilson and a few other guys on defense right? And isn't Marshawn Lynch wanting more money too?

I honestly don't believe it had anything to do with money. He id not fit their scheme and brought less value to them keeping him than to get something in return for him If there was any possible way that they thought he could help this team get back to the Super Bowl, you keep him until the end of the season and then you release him because you don't want to pay him.

They offered DEN/CLE the trade for Julius Thomas/Jordan Cameron. Both obviously laughed in their face.

Read a report that said Harvin punched Tate before the SB game and got into another fight with Baldwin and ALMOST got into a fight with Wilson.

Final straw seemed to be his refusal to re-enter the Dallas game despite not being hurt.
