What's soccer?

How many kids want to devote all their time to two sports at once? Have you ever went to football practice and then had a soccer game? Unfortunately, when you have a soccer player as a kicker many think of themselves as soccer players first.

 

I don't know the dynamics of BG, from the soccer schedule to the dynamic between the coaches of the two sports but from experience I do know that it is work. And that is from a school in which the coaches worked together and wanted those kids to play both sports.

 

All I'm saying is that it takes a kid that actually wants to kick. Just getting a soccer player doesn't accomplish much. Kids have to be coached to kick a football, whether the team has a coach that can do it well or the kid will get coaching from outside sources such as camps or local kicking coaches.

 

It's easy to second guess from the armchair position, but just adding a soccer player will not provide a team with a good kicker. Its not automatic, especially if you want the full arsenal of FG/EP, Punting, and Kickoffs. Kicking is alot of natural ability, but more than that it is a skill that has to be worked on and practiced, especially if you want more than an extra point kicker. If that's all you want a kid on the team can learn to do that in most circumstances.

Fleming County uses 2, one for kick offs and one for extra points.

Levi Tipton, Estill County, is also a soccer player. He can sure put the boot into the football on kickoffs. Just about always goes in the endzone/through the endzone. Was invited to Auburn's kicking camp this summer.

That's pretty cool. Henderson's Nick Gregory is ranked 10th for this years class. He also plays soccer.

It is more important to make sure the snapper and the holder.....aren't
