Hasn't Manual beaten Male the last 4 times they've played?

I think we can all agree past performance is no guarantee of future outcomes . . .

I am hearing folks say that H is going to roll, but I think X really began playing with swagger last week. I am picking the Tigers, 27-19.

This game is going to be played on a very sloppy field and most likely will be raining! I like the Tigers chances in the mud! Very low scoring game X-14 Male-6

Last year St X lost to Male twice, by 4 points and by 2 points (average of 3 points). So the question is can St X find those 4 points needed to defeat Male this year. Though some are calling this an insurmountable point spread differential to overcome, I will argue that it can be done.

 

First point - I believe that everyone can now admit that St X has improved from last year. By the 4 points needed to defeat Male? absolutely! Have they improved by 7 points? most Certainly. Have they improved by 14 points? trinity would say they have.

 

Second point - Has Male improved from last year? Hard to say due to their soft schedule. 17 point victory over Meade County has to be disconcerting to the Male faithful, but this could be due to looking ahead to the St X game (certainly understandable). Until they lose you have to continue to keep Male favored to win state 6A.

 

Third point - supposed to be wet this Friday night. This should help the underdog team, but obviously no guarantees. The wild card with rainy weather is of course turnovers and this could go to either team, its all about how the ball bounces.

 

So..........

 

Looking at what Male accomplished last year and what they have returned this year you have to like Male's chances. Looking at what St X has accomplished this year you have to like St X's chances.

 

Much like the two games last year it should be a close affair. Going off of this years improvement I will go with St X pulling it out in the fourth quarter in a close one.

This will be a battle to the end. TO's will be BIG!!!! Defense will win it for the Tigers . . .

If the X defense continues their strong play and the offense executes the way they did last week, then I think X beats Male. Male is a very talented team, but they had the same talent last year and X still messed around and almost beat them. Like last week, early turnovers for either team could be a deciding factor.

Why in the world would anyone want to do that? Have you seen the visitors stands at X? That is no place to watch a game. Maybe it would be good if Male rented the stadium and banished anyone wearing green and yellow to the visitors side.

It's a shame there are people thinking that way.

I would not expect Male to move the game or ask St. X to consider hosting!!! The weather forecast is calling for lots of rain on Friday and both teams have to deal with it. Sure, it might "save" the Male field for better conditions later on in the season, playoffs etc., however, its Male's decision and I respect them for keeping the game at their place. I can remember many rain games at the old Manual stadium (before X had their own stadium and artificial turf). In an ideal situation, it would be better to play on artificial turf, however, the game is to be played at Male and both teams must play in equal elements of mud, rain etc.. Kinda makes it like old time football, which I like....!

Meade's defense exposed Male's weakness...stop the passing game and don't give up any big plays. Make Male one dimensional. Again, if Meade doesn't muff a kick-off Male only scores 10 points. Male only had one long sustained drive (started at the fifty)..the opening kick-off. Male offense is great between the 20s, but struggles in the red zone. St X by 10

Male wins this game. Enough with the Meade County exposed weaknesses and ifs and buts. Bottom line last week: Total Yards- Male 325, Meade 76. First Downs- Male 21, Meade 3. To go along with that Male dropped 2 touchdown passes in the first half and had 6 drops total. Those numbers are not indicative of a game that exposed weaknesses. That simply shows that Male stopped themselves. Now on to the game at hand. St. X is coming off huge win and they will be ready to play. I look for a hard fought game. Usually in these types of games, the team that makes the least mistakes wins. Male catches the ball well tonight and comes up with one more big play than X. Male 28, St. X 21.
