It's Boyle County Week, can't wait until Friday for the best rivalry in the state to be played. If anyone thinks this will be anything other than a great game than they haven't paid any attention to the history between these 2 great programs.

 

Obviously I am picking LexCath but what I think this game will come down to is LexCath's Redzone offense vs Boyle's Redzone Defense and if Catholic can get any stops now that their defense should be healthy for this game. LC has shown that they can move the ball on everyone they have played. What has cost them has been finishing drives, have not been good in that area against good competition.

IMO the only team that the Knights have played that has a good defense is Bowling Green, all the other teams they have played has give up a lot of points in all the games they have played.I guess my point is the Knights only scored 14 on the purples, so for me it's hard to assess Their offense against the defensive competition they have played. In closing I think last years team was better than the 2014 version for LC.

I get what you're saying but the Knights did move the ball well against BG. Going 2/5 in the Redzone and having a TD called back on a drive you end up not scoring on hurt their production in that game.

 

I'll also add that BC hasn't exactly played amazing offenses yet this season, but they have shut down what they have played and they are Boyle County so their D is probably legit.

It will be a low scoring game. Boyle's offense has yet to prove that they can score points in a hurry. If they don't turn it over then they will have exceptional ball control and efficiency. I expect Boyle County to win but it won't be easy by any stretch of the imagination.

If Boyle controls the turnovers and penaltys I see them scoring 35 plus, and the way LC's defense has give up points this year I believe this to be more probable than possible After Madison Central scored 41 on them.

I bet Smith has his offense practicing lots of passing this week.

Exactly what i think too PP92. I have not been impressed with Boyle's offense so far, it seems like they have no rhythm.

IMO if you're looking for an explosive offense from Boyle this season it's not gonna happen I've already accepted the fact that it's gonna be a an efficient ball control type offense, and how can they have any rythem when the play caller on the sidelines dose'nt have any.

I bet Smith has his offense practicing lots of passing this week.

 

Boyle has more balance on offense this year the days of French running the ball 70% of the time are over so if LC is expecting to load the box on every play to stop the run it won't work unless the knights have a terrible run defense then they may get a steady dose of the bone. So yes I would say Smith will practice passing the ball as much as running it this week.

On a side note, I am surprised that there is someone else that is named nearly the same as me.

I fully expect this to be a higher scoring game than last year. It was the lowest amount of points by a Knight team in 3 years and the main factor driving that was self inflicted. That should not be the case this year. So the Knights should put up at least 28 points.

 

The problem for the Knights is that Boyle will likely score more this year as well. The Knights defensive struggles were clear at Mercer. Injuries or not, the Knights have to fix things on defense this week or else the offense will have score on every touch. And that is unlikely.

I see a 3 TD win last year when Boyle County wasn't quite as good and LexCath was a lot better. Does not dissuade my opinion.
