I will disagree. Beechwood's regular season rivals are undoubtedly Covington Catholic and Newport Catholic. Those are the two teams Beechwood is challenged by and wants to beat more than any other.

 

Due to the competitive nature of the history between the 2 and the fact that no one in Beechwoods district can usually compete with them NCC and Cov. Cath maybe rivals with Beechwood.

 

Highlands and Campbell could certainly develop into a good healthy rivalry but I think it would be tough to replace Cov. Cath as the Birds primary rival, because despite the lopsidedness of the rivalry the games always matter and their is always a belief (some years more, some less, but always to some extent that Cov Cath can win).

 

As far as running up the score, it is ALWAYS wrong. I have disagreed when I though Dale, did it and I would disagree when others do it. I honestly didn't try to figure out what happened in this instance with middle school kids because I reaally just have little interest in the teams or the potential injustice.

Is CC on Highlands' schedule next year? This was year 2 of their contract.

Highlands/CovCath is not a rivalry to start with. 458-152...that's the score in their last 12 meetings...all of which HHS won.

 

HHS has made CCH its own personal play toy.

 

This could be said for all a whole bunch of teams they have faced in the last 8 yrs...

 

Like I said, Campbell does not stand in the way of Highlands ultimate goal but CovCath does, so do not kid yourself or discount the Highlands vs CovCath rivalry:thumb:

Campbell folks needs to think about making this game their rivalry game and know that Lickert schedules Highlands for one thing and one this only...

 

He knows that few local teams other than a few teams named Highlands and CovCath will prepare his team better to prepare his team for the most important game on his schedule this yr and heck he doesn't even have to travel far to get what he wants.

Everything Qyrche11 says is true. I was at the game. 7 8th graders an 12 7th graders against all 8th graders. Up 30 an still throwing with first group an running toss sweeps with same ones. Blue team scores came against there first group. Classless! Worst I ever witnessed.

All in the 4th quarter with clock running. It's OK these kids will have there buddies joining them from the white an red teams. So gettem in now in middle school.

Maybe FTJFL teams should avoid scheduling any teams from other leagues if they are just going to complain about only having limited players. Did they not know the white and red teams wouldn't be playing with them when they agreed to the game?

If you weren't at the game how do you say Highlands coasted? Maybe CC finally realized that they can play with anyone if they put there mind to it. I WAS actually at the game and I thinke CC out played Highlands the last 3 quarters.Guys like you kill me. Instead of giving kids credit for playing a great game win ot lodr you make excuses why you didn't blow a team out. And you wonder why everyone hates Highlands. I was told Highlands got sloppy. They felt they had the game in the bag after a qtr. That's a sign of a young team. I was told they had lots of penalties and dropped passes, along with a so so effort. Purely here-say from multiple sources. They have grown up and are improving.
