HHSDawgs1424 Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I must say I am very impressed with Mr. HIll...not even a week after the end of the season and he's already working on his game for next year...i was up at holmes and had to go through the gym and there was Austin with four other holmes guys working on his free throws and having them pass him the ball so he can work on his jumper. Good to see he took that loss hard and is trying to get even better for next year :thumb: This is the type of leadership the dawgs will need in order to return to the top next year.
Jim Schue Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 They pretty much get everyone back, right? Who are the Dogs' seniors?
Crossbar Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 This is exactly what they need. Hill will step up next year, he has leading potential.
HHSDawgs1424 Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 They pretty much get everyone back, right? Who are the Dogs' seniors? Holmes returns everyone but Bj Avery but he only started toward the end of the year after Rice' departure. Austin is definetly already stepping up which is a great sign. This was also an hour and a half AFTER school that he was still in the gym working on his game. I watched him for a bout fifteen minutes and he shot free throws about ten minutes then as i was leaving he started having them pass the ball to him so he could work on his jumper...I expect great things out of this kid next year. His hard work should pay off in the long run. Also heard from some students I know that since the loss, both Jefferson and Henderson have been in the weight room and gym as much as possible...this is really showing me some character that these kids want it bad and know what they have to do to get it done next year.
ColonelCrazy Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 A good sign, but not all that unusual. Hopefully for Holmes' sake it will continue throughout the offseason and the rest of the Dawgs will follow Hill's lead.
NKYBOY1487 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Would anyone agree that Austin Hill has proven himself over the past season enough, that he is possibly the best recruit in NKY out of the Junior class? If not, where do you see him playing? Is he going to play football instead? With the problems at UC, can he play there? My opinion is that he should sit out of football, he is too beat up this year and had to play through some major injuries to just have the amazing season he had.

I agree, but he is probably a better football prospect in regards to D1 than he is basketball.
cch5432 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 How did they lose against Dixie? Too many different perspectives to tell here. Your best bet is.... http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?t=91651
B-Ball-fan Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Austin Hill is a man amongst boys. It was a pleasure to see his leadership, dedication, and all out awesome play this year. Can't wait to see him play his senior year and wish him the best at the next level. Football or Basketball, some university is going to get themselves a fine athlete!
NineOh Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I would be very suprised to see Hill quit football.

I was very impressed the way this young man plays the game. He is a great talent. What position did he play in football? All I remember about Holmes in football was Duran running all over the field making everybody look slow!
Crossbar Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Will Rice be back next year? Highly highly doubt it^^. Word was he was going to attend Taft Hs, in Ohio??
