Do they normally only dress 30 guys? I think their lack of depth is one of the things that helped us. Our ground and pound wore them out.

I wouldn't go that far. They would be ranked, but the way they finished the season last year would mean they'd be in the top 20 at best. Frankly I don't think this squad is quite at that level just yet.

The Rocks need to improve their special teams, especially kick-off returns.

At the very least Trinity should be 4-1, they had no business losing to Carmel, they were the better team on the field but not on the scoreboard that night, which obviously is the only thing that counts. Unless you win all of these OOS games and are shooting for a Mythical NC, these games are nothing more than a chance to measure yourself against the best programs in the country you can schedule. These are not District games and have no bearing on the playoff seeds whatsoever but they are sure fun to watch! Any way you slice it the Rocks have notched some fantastic wins this season and are not done yet. Male is and will continue to be the big game prize Trinity is seeking to bag. I was very concerned about our pass defense until clearly the coaching staff made some great halftime adjustments for the 2nd half last night and finally stopped the big pass plays. If we build on that 2nd half pass coverage defense last night I think Male could be in for a long night. First things first though, can't wait for Cathedral Friday night then onto X, what a fun ride, Go Rocks!!

Ryan Young returning to the lineup definitely gave the offense a shot in the arm. I think with the solid running game that we have right now it should take a ton of pressure off the QB. Young is probably the way to go for this year. Harper has the talent and throws a dart, but I think he needs to mature a bit more first.

I'd like to thank the school and its fans of the Trinity Shamrocks for their fine hospitality. Some of your supporters were sitting right behind us during the game and we were able to share background info about each other’s programs. It was nice to exchange kudos when either side made good plays.

 

As you may have noticed Cocoa’s kicker was injured early in the game. I found this update on his condition and it doesn't fair well for him at least for this season. “Cocoa's kicker, and 8th grader, suffered a cracked knee cap and a torn ACL. He is done for 2014. He was hitting some long kicks and he was missed big time.”

 

I thought I also saw a Trinity player being taken away just before halftime; does anybody have an update on his status? I hope he will be okay.

I was sitting front row at the 45 when your kicker tried to tackle #10 after a kickoff. He got smacked bad. I knew he was hurt when he was pounding his fist on the turf. Could tell it was his leg when they carted him to the ambulance. I hope the kid will be OK.

 

#23 for Trinity suffered a dislocated shoulder from what I understand. They wrapped his shoulder before they took him to the ambulance.

The easiest way to improve the kick-off returns is to find out what it takes for the kicker to reach the end zone more often. He is a kicking beast in practice. :clap:
