People like Mr Jones gives many a bad name

Featured Replies

This is a case which I'm sure happens a lot across the country especially in today's day and age.

Don't know if it's simply seeking out attention or maybe something monetary, but when you toss the race card out you better have proof.

Here is the story the news had

Unfortunately for Mr Jones, the officer was recording the incident.

Mr Jones has been awfully quiet after discovering the recording the officer had. He has refused to be interviewed by the News

So my question is this, what does this teach his kids? Will they now always be afraid of police? Will they think police are racist because their dad told them they were? This is the problem we have in this society.

Mr. Jones got caught embellishing. The Fire Department and City need to look at taking action against him.

The Cop did just fine here.

And for the record, most Cops can't stand firefighters for several reasons and this is exactly the kind of bull firefighters pull.

This kind of crap really torques me. Perpetuates the race issue in reverse and I don't see how a single soul can defend it, but I'm looking forward to hearing it here first.

I am serious, the firefighter should be disciplined. If you watched the entire news report the police trainer was taking issue with the officer not apologizing (not that he needed to) when in fact the video shows he apologized which means Jones probably lied about that too. Internal affairs needs to jump on the firefighter and nail it down. I think they will get him in a lie and if so they should drill him.

And that is why every police department should be equipped with, and be required to use body cameras at all times...

He apologized twice actually. He initially apologized to the kids before he ran the IDs then to all 3 again afterward.

I agree with everything you say. The problem is however, it isn't a firefighter problem. It is a society problem. Maybe he as a firefighter has it out for the police he works with, I don't know, but what I do believe is there are people like him in all walks of life that do this type of thing.

People wonder why there is still "Racism" around, but it's because of idiots like Mr Jones that are looking to get something for nothing that spread the hatred that I get so upset about.

I'm with doc on this one, it torques me beyond belief and what makes it worse is the idiots that start to fule their private jets up to fly to places where the "R" word is tossed out to drum up support etc. and publicity are always the ones that you couldn't find even mentioning this type of thing when it is exposed.

As long as the "Righteous Al Sharptons" of the world continue to keep their mouths shut when something like this occurs but grab their megaphones when they think it's the other way around, we will always have this problem in this society and people will always be convinced racism is a huge problem.

Yes he did. He was very professional and polite.

I agree with you 100%. I wasn't responding to your post, but to the videos. Freakin joke.

Apologized twice.

It's clear who the racist is, it remains to be seen what Oakland does about it.

I'm wondering if he coached his son's on what to say for the interview. I'd bet money he did. Pathetic

And that is why every police department should be equipped with' date=' and be required to use body cameras at all times...[/quote']

How do you propose the government pays for that?

Some departments barely afford uniforms. Some haven't given officers raises in years, not even for cost of living. Who will buy cameras for 700,000 police in the US, AND keep all recorded video stored for every officers 8/10/12 hour shifts? How long must it be stored? Is that going to get expensive?

Not to mention, take away the 1033 program and police will already be losing money because they will have to buy things they were once getting for next to nothing.

I'm all for cameras btw...I just don't see how all police departments can afford them all the time.
