gold sunrise Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Basketball season for 2014/2015 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Gallatin County. Remember, please be constructive.
frmwaydwntwn1212 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Leading scorer and point guard Caleb Beckham is not listed on this year's roster. I know tryouts have not happened yet but a coach would physically have to go in and move a kid from the roster this early for them not to transfer from last year's roster. I am going to assume the rumors of him enrolling at Owen County are true. If this is the case, I expect Gallatin to struggle mightily this season. But looking at the schedule they currently have on KHSAA it looks like the coach may have anticipated this struggle.

What you see currently on the KHSAA website is not complete. They have Collins, Simon Kenton, Owen County, South Oldham, Oldham County, Anderson County.........basically most of the top teams in the 8th on the schedule as usual.
Mayor of Paintsville Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 This years team will be young but they will be well prepared. Look for Koby Carlton to lead the point and they will have size in the middle with Noah McCubbin. Mason Wilson will also contribute at the guard position. There will be no doubt that every player on this team will know his role.
NKY Bandit Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Gets my vote for best coach in the region every year....If they'd ever let me vote.
Cal hater Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Gets my vote for best coach in the region every year....If they'd ever let me vote. WOW!!! MAN CRUSH?? Good coach but far from the best. Beckham would have been third best player on the team.
Mack The Knife Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 WOW!!! MAN CRUSH?? Good coach but far from the best. Beckham would have been third best player on the team. Far from the best? That's a tad comical...
madman Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Gets my vote for best coach in the region every year....If they'd ever let me vote. Heard this will be his last year coaching because he is going to be taking an administrative position.
8th Region Warrior Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 John is definitely one of the best! He already serves as AD. Does a great job preparing and teaching kids. I think he has been in administration for quite some time now.
True blue (and gold) Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Coach Jones year in and year out develops his teams farther than most think is possible. In a small school such as GC, this means instead of relying on or hoping for a "stud," Coach Jones finds the full potential of each of the kids that he coaches. Yep. Most years, I'd vote for him as Coach of the Year. And I don't wear Wildcat blue, either.
Yo Mama Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 John is definitely one of the best! He already serves as AD. Does a great job preparing and teaching kids. I think he has been in administration for quite some time now. Currently serving as interim principal also.
Just Jim Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Couple updates from the Gallatin newspaper. 1. As stated earlier by madman, this looks to be coach Jones last year. He was named school principal on a permanent basis. 2. There was a Kaleb Beckham listed as playing in their blue/white game. (led team in scoring)
