Very few, if any, thought BG would be undefeated going into this game. The Purples are as banged up as we have been in several years. The official word should be coming soon but it looks like Cameron Wallace could be out for the year.

McCallie so far this year looks unbeatable. Not only are they 4-0 but they are averaging 50 per contest and have a legitimate 4.3 speedster in Alex Trotter. Alex,2 weeks ago, set the city of Chattanooga record in one game of 378 yards. He has already passed the 1,000 yard mark 4 games into the season.

Can the Purples muster up some more magic? Everyone knows if they somehow win this game the streak is theirs!

Give us your thoughts. Can the walking wounded pull off what would probably go down as the greatest regular season win in Purples history (let me know if you disagree with that statement)?

Let's here it.

It will be the fifth straight week (counting week 0) BG will play an opponent that is undefeated heading into their contest...it will be the 4th where they will face a team ranked in the top 5 of their class. Brutal schedule.

Will there be a local radio station streaming this one?

Some early food for thought....

Last year in Chattanooga, BG won 40 to 36 and it took all of the Purples key skill guys to produce to pull it out.

One thing about that game to remember is McCallie ran back the kickoff two times that game and if not for the kicker getting a shoe-string tackle it would have been 3. BG's kicker is pretty reliable, but he can't get it to the endzone. How BG performs in the kicking game will be very big!

Will their be a local radio station streaming this one?

I plan to go to the game. I'll try to do a better job this week of reporting back on this site for it. Just got overwhelmed at the Owensboro game.

It's shame that no local stations carry Purple's football live...Seems like WBGN used to broadcast them in the 70s early 80s...
Blame the radio stations for being dinosaurs that don't understand the times. Bowling Green was on ESPN Radio until the beginning of last season.

Is ESPN radio WBGN/1340...

Is ESPN radio WBGN/1340...

It was until about 6 years ago. WBGN switched to Fox Sports. Now WWKU/1450 is ESPN Radio. 1450 does not broadcast anything now for high school. 1340 does a game of the week format but I believe typically sticks close to home. 930 WKCT broadcasts the Greenwood games.

Not many teams should BG be concerned about on kickoff but McCallie is one of those teams. Last year I went to that game (I thought St. X and Trinity had money). You cannot imagine how nice their campus is. With recruiting being legal, they truly reload every year. Some naysayers will look at McCallie record last year and not be too impressed. However, when you play the likes of Ensworth and Brentwood you could see how some losses come.

McCallie, like BG, is very business like. They are clean, crisp and very fast. I read up on the Trotter kid and he is real deal. McCallie gas given up a few points but they are putting up 50 on teams that would be considered 6 A in Ky. You can be assured that they will show up at Monie Beard field (wish he could be at game!) ready to play.

Purples are wounded and will come into game limping but bet your bottom dollar that they will leave it all on the field. Our defense took game against Owensboro personal and will do what they can to contain Trotter.

Going to be a classic game. Hard to argue against high school football being the purest sport there is. Enjoy the game, I know I will.

Mind explaining what you mean about Trinity having money?

I'm hoping the Purples win, but believe it will be a big challenge. Toughest test they will have to keep the streak going of the season IMO.

I'm thinking they are referring to the amenities on the respective campuses and if MBA and Ensworth are representative of what Tennessee private schools look like I understand.

Brutal? In the last week's MaxPreps Freeman computer poll, Bowling Green was ranked 189 in US. Their opponents looked like this.

4790 Mercer Co Harrodsburg

2341 @ Lexington Catholic

530 St Xavier Louisville

1424 @ Owensboro

McCallie is ranked #256 for the moment but they should rise after last night's win. After McCallie, BG faces two more Kentucky juggernauts: #5226 Barren Co to tie, and #12,786 Logan Co to break. Btw, there are around 15,000 h/s 11-man football teams in the country.

In the 3 full seasons of the run (games 1-44), BG played 16 teams with losing seasons and 3 with .500 seasons. Through the whole streak to date, BG’s opponents’ rankings go like this:

In 2011 BG finished #50 in the country, in 2012 #157,in 2013 #97. The 2014 schedule might have been semi-brutal if Blackman had not been unilaterally dropped by BG.

As for the Freeman rankings, not infallible by a long shot but it's all we have except the next longest ones, HSFB100 and PrepNation Top 25 + Top 10 in 7 regions.
