Brossart/Mason Co. Predictions

Featured Replies

I guess it's a backhanded compliment that you have such "high expectations" for the Mustangs, but I'm curious how you think Brossart has "not performed up to expectations" and "...doesn't have the guns"?? Whose?? Yours?? They are a small single A school which to date has done the following:

1. Won 19 games while playing a challenging schedule!!

2. Won the AIT!!

3. Won the All "A" 10th region!!

4. Won the 37th district!!

5. Made the final four of the All "A" State Tourney!!

6. Currently heading to the 10th region semi-finals!!

This was accomplished by a team that had to replace seven seniors, including four starters; and returned only three seniors, and few players with any appreciable varsity experience!! Man, you must be hard to please???? Who do you support, and who do you consider successful--Oak Hill Academy??

Small single A school thing is getting old. That is just an excuse which you use when it benefits you. They also lost 11 games 6 in a row. I know they played some though games during that 6 game loss, but Newport and NCC back to back is not playing to expectations. At least not to what all the BB faithful was saying at the beginning of the season.

I think this game goes to the wire and I am picking BB to win over the Royals. IMO, they are on a roll, but it will run out Saturday night against PC or GRC.

Good luck to both Teams.

My thoughts exactly Sharp. Before the season started BB was going to pick up right where they left off last year. They are winning again and I think they have a good chance to beat MC but I will still pick MC to win.

Maybe you need to go back and read some of the posts - I don't think anyone said they would pick up right where they left off last year. Brossart lost a tremondous amount of talent last year. They had a very good JV team, most with little or no varsity experience. Brossart knew they would take their licks, but they have also beat some good teams and played with a few to the last second.

The last time Brossart & Mason played they were in it until the last five minutes; someone else posted you need to play the game for the full 32 minutes which at times Brossart has not. Mason is very beatable and hopefully the Mustangs can do it.

Well I guess they have done better than last year in that they made it to Maysville and have won a game there also. They can beat MC and they haven't been playing the best so maybe BB will make it to the finals.

Brossart has had a great season. Look for Brossart to win this Regional barnburner, I think Mason County is overlooking getting ready for Pendleton. Good Luck both Teams!!

I think Mason was overlooking last night getting ready for Brossart!

Mason County will win this game.......

Sorry but they are a small single A school, which is now competitve with most of their larger brethern--Nothing more than a simple FACT!! Not sure what you expected them to do--go 30 something and 0/1/2???? The players, coaches and fans have high expectations just like your program does; but were realistic when it comes to this year. You don't replace seven seniors, who played the vast majority of the varisity minutes without some growing pains!! You'll find that out next year!! :D

I'd say 19-11 is pretty good returning one guy with varsity experience... and they're not done yet. Why is it always the same PC fans complaining about everything such as home court advantage:rolleyes: or bringing a team down saying how they haven't played up to expectations. Give me a break... Get off your high pedestol... you don't have too much longer up there!

Striker I went back and looked on the thread you started 10th region next year. You said Troy Cooper would be better than Pat E. and also Brad S. would be the best point guard in the region and lead BB to the region title.I guess that is still possible but I don't think Cooper is better than Elliott or Seiter is the best point guard in the region. There were more posts in that thread, you should maybe be reading what you said back in May instead of telling someone else to.

Back to the game--Mason deserves to be the favorite, as they handled the Mustangs on their homecourt; and contributed to the continuation of their six game losing streak. 'Stangs seem to have gotten some focus back, and will be well prepared for this contest; but it's still a tall order to go into the Fieldhouse this time of year and defeat the Royals!! Whoever executes their offense the best will be back Saturday night!!

PS: Apparently only to get pounded by the PC/Clark winner according to the other threads????

Check in the pre-season what I said, I called for Brossart to be around the second or third best team. Right after the season, I said Brossart would be the best team, but followed it up in the pre-season with different rankings.

I think Mason was overlooking last night getting ready for Brossart!

I don't think you can put much stock in games like last night?? Guessing you're right!!

Beat Mason Co. that will be enough for me.
