Start an SK schedule thread if you'd like. It seems to me that all you guys want to say is that SK's opponents aren't any good. Give the kids/coaches credit for doing what they should have done in those games and let it go. Enough schedule talk. Is this team the West Canaan Coyotes? Maybe. We don't know yet. Could they be state champs? Maybe. Scott Co wasn't the trendy pick last year either. SK is a program on the rise, their heading in the right direction. Some of you guys want them to go from one of the worst in NKY 10 years ago to be the Seattle Seahawks overnight.

I agree, I think it's time SK stepped up in scheduling and do what Ryle has done. Ryle has gone outside the area and played some big teams and they have been down several years but trying to turn it around. SK would get more respect in the area if they did just that. Go down to Louisville and Lex and Cincinnati and play some of those powerhouses if you want to brag about how good you are year after year.

 

BTW, if you're trying to praise Ryle for getting drilled by Colerain three years ago, how has that worked out for them lately?

Hang on a second...Cooper has been said by several people over and over again they really aren't a very good team. Yet Cooper has played teams with a combined won loss record of 1-7 and they have scored over 30 points in their last 2 games.

 

So with that said, how can you tell if SK is playing really well and is a good team when they haven't played a team yet with a win and yet Cooper is a bad team even though they have the same record and have scored a lot of points and given up even less than SK has in the process?

 

 

Now I'm not saying Cooper is a great team, I'm just using them to compare using your criteria for SK. How do you know they are playing well if they have the same amount of wins as Cooper yet unlike Cooper havne't beaten a team with a W yet?

The bulk of the posters feel SK purposely underscheduled. I agree. Marksberry has moved the program forward in a very deliberate pace and it has worked. After going 2-9 in 2011 and then barely beating 1A Beechwood and 2A New Cath in 2012, I understand Marksberry not wanting to take a big jump in the schedule for the 2013-14 seasons. Personally, I don't think Marksberry himself thought SK would take the leap forward that they have the past two years. All we have to go on in ranking teams is the record and the opponents. Weak opponents weaken the record. SK fans have to understand that unbiased observers are not going to jump on board. They are going to want to see SK prove their value all season long. Until SK beats quality opponents, there will be doubts. That is just the way it is. And that is true for all teams, not just SK.

But in all seriousness being just 2 full seasons removed from 2-9 I think their schedule is about right. Now the next time through (next season's schedule) SK should be showing an upgrade on this past two year schedule cycle. We shall see.

Covcath should be number 1. They might have the best team ever in N. ky.

I don't think we're asking anyone to jump on board. I don't care about the poll. I'm not saying we're the best 'this or that'. My comment was that this football team is pretty good, that's all. I never compared them to anyone or said they were better than anyone.

As I've heard it- Dixie, Campbell, Boone, Ryle, Conner, Cooper, CovCath, Highlands, Bullitt Central and one TBD. I'm not confident about Bullitt.
