1A Frankfort High travels 5 miles to take on cross town rival 5A Franklin County. After a long break this series between these two schools started back in 2002. Since then Franklin County has dominated the series with a 9-2 record over the 11 years. In those 9 wins only three times have Panthers kept in close.

Franklin County is known for their high octane offense. They are 2-0 on the season and averaging 45.5 points per game and fiving up an average of 6.5. The Flyers seem to have really improved on defense the past couple of years.

Frankfort is also 2-0 on the season averaging 38 points per game. Frankfort has had a solid defense over the last several years are still working out the kinks this season. The defense is giving up an average of 16.5 points.

Can Frankfort find away to win their 3rd victory in the most recent series? Or will this be another win and sweep of the local teams for Franklin County this year?

First game after the break was in 2003, and I expect this game to be just as crazy as that one was. Every year this the highlighted game for fans in the capitol city and it seems like this year the teams look evenly matched. Should be a dandy.

Emotions are always high for this game.

Great information Coach, I didn't realized this series was put on hold for so long. Great for the City of Frankfort that it was revived.

I'll have to go with my 1A teams and say Frankfort finds a way.

Bucket, you math is incorrect....The Panthers gave up 7 to LC because they put a Defensive TD on them....They gave up 14 to SC, which gives them a total of 21.....Divide that by the 2 games played, The Panther D is giving up 10.5 per game.....This is on Track from the pervious seasons; However, FC has always been an Outlier for the Panther D....Should be a good Assessment Friday night..........

Well in that case, franklins defense is giving up 3 points per game because the only points Oldham scored were on the opening kickoff and Franklin is averaging exactly 42 points on offense as they had a defensive td last week.

That 2003 game was a good one, and the good guys won. :thumb:

Panthers seem to be the favorite on BGP, what puts them ahead so clearly this year?? People seem to think the flyers are down and out?

No one I know thinks the Flyers are down and out. They are the typical scoring machine. I think Franklin County could win by 2 TDs.

I doubt the flyers are favorites considering Frankfort high has 3 of the top 50 players in the state. Probably a true toss up.

Just going from the poll here on preps. Other than you CoachB there is no one really calling the flyers a scoring machine or above average as far as that goes. Frankfort has seemed to impress folks so far this year.

Since The Flyers went back to running The System year after year they put plenty of points on the board. This season no different.

42-6 and 49-7 those scores are tough to argue.

Flyers have plenty of depth and talent.

I am not saying the Panthers will come out and lay down. I am just saying based on last 11 games in this series and they way the Flyers have opened this season it would be hard to set the line against the Flyers.

Who are the three players for Frankfort ranked in the top 50 in KY? And ranked by who?

The three players are Jalen Washington wr/db, Jalen Acree rb/de, and Anthony Robinson Qb/de. And I haven't read anything about it anywhere personally, but I have heard that from numerous people from around Frankfort.

Other than you CoachB there is no one really calling the flyers a scoring machine or above average as far as that goes.

Does FC need their ego stroked?
