I lab once ate a baseboard molding

So did my brother's Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. There was also an electric socket mounted into the baseboard; the dog bit into that and got a pretty good shock - enough of a shock to make him throw up and :poop: all over the place.

...plus the dog is quite a fan of socks and underwear. This after this past winter when the snow finally melted in the spring, my brother had to pick up piles of socks and underwear all over the place.

When I was a kid we had a boxer who are the arm rest off the couch. My mom was afraid my dad would get rid of it so she hid it with a throw blanket. It went a year like that and he never noticed. He came home one day and the blanket was off the couch and he beat that dog. Poor dog had no idea what he did.

But could she flip them off her elbow and catch them?

You're dating yourself.

My golden has a huge sock fetish. He's never really chewed up anything or on anything else. He will occasionally get in the trash if he's looking for attention. But leave a sock laying where he can get it and it's gone. That includes clothes baskets with the lid left open. The adult socks usually reappear around 2:00 in the morning. Can't count how many times I've had to clean up dog puke in the middle of the night. The kids socks I normally find while mowing.

My chocolate lab is a good dog. He doesn't chew on anything; not even the cats.

My grandparents had a Bernese Mountain Dog that ate cats. I've never seen a dog hate cats as much as that one. They lived on a farm and had countless strays that lived in their barns. The dog was actually my aunt and uncles but he was in the Air Force and was moving overseas so my grandparents took the dog. He had never seen a cat before and the day they dropped him off he jumped out of the car, saw his first one, took off, caught and killed it with in 5 mins of being there. He proceeded to kill almost every cat on the property over the next year or so.

My little dog doesn't chew on anything, but you will find many of treats stowed away thru the house. I opened the bottom dresser drawer the other morning and found a small bone mixed in with some white t-shirts.

That would have made picking restaurants easier.

This made me laugh

He needs to turn in his Dog Card!

My last dog chewed shoes, tv remotes, cell phones and pretty much anything and everything he could find that wasn't nailed down. Chewed a hole in the couch cushion. All this within the first 2 years of his life. Afterward, nothing at all. In fact, I either did a good job training him or he just naturally got to this point, he wouldn't even touch anything unless I specifically gave it to him. But, he was the MASTER of precision stuffed toy destruction. Even toys sold as "indestructable" were chewed apart at a seam and the squeeker removed posthaste, and by that, I mean 10 minutes or less. You would never be able to tell the toy was torn up. Just removed the squeeker and discarded the rest, and it would appear fine until you looked closely. He destroyed rawhide bones in hours.

My new little guy has an affinity for my t shirts, sweatshirts and winter scarves. It's nothing to come home to a pile of whatever he could find and drag into the living room, with him curled up on top of it. He doesn't destroy anything. Just likes to cart the stuff around like a kid with a security blanket.
