So, let's do some quick math. Let's say the Cubs drop off significantly and win just 92 games in '17.

Redlegs only have to go 160-2 to catch up.

So you're saying there's a chance? :wacky:

The Joe Maddon effect. How do the Reds overcome that? For that matter, how does the entire central division deal with it?

Play for one of the two wild card spots.

Maybe in 2018. I don't see it happening before then, more likely 2019.

I agree. I was just saying the only chance I see the Reds or any NL Central team dealing with the Cubs dominance is to hope they can win one of the 2 wild card sports.

Cubs will double up the reds in 3 years of games.

Seriously, do you actually believe any of the ridiculousness you post?

If the Cubs went 162-0 the Reds would have to go 49-113 for that to happen?

Correct. Of course logic has never stopped him before....

Plantman makes me laugh and that's how I decide if I want to be friends with someone :lol2:

How many of these guys can the Cubs pay? Theo lured in key players by putting the idea of being THE team to do it for the Cubs. I think if they get that ring, there will be a significant drop off. Everyone will want their piece of the pie.

The core of their stud players will be under contract for a long while, plus the Cubs ain't hurting for money.

Rizzo, Bryant, Baez, Russell, Soler, Schwarber, Heyward, Hendricks are all under control to at least 2019 and 2020.

Matter of fact, I think the only major player who's contract expires is Chapman. Cubs will be in the thick of things for a while and they sure aren't hurting for money, with one of, if not the top front office under contract for another 5 years.
