Whats the As record since Dunn joined?

1-3. Lost to the Astros last night.

He wasn't asking a question.

As an A's fan, I'll still feel better about their rotation in a 4 game series than I would if it remained as is from the first half.

Lester, Gray, Samarzdija, and Kazmir looks way better than Gray, Kazmir, Chavez, and Pomeranz in a playoff series.

Agreed.

But, right now it appears the A's are on a collision course for a one game series as a wild card team, if they hold on....

All those arms my end up hanging in the wind.

Some of those NASA guys may have messed up their math, and now the best they can do is hope to bring the guys back home. Forget a moon landing.

Yep. The As are cursed. lol

Agreed.

Still better off than they would have been with keeping a guy like Chavez in the rotation.

People knew their first half numbers were going to be unsustainable, both at the plate and in the starting rotation.

The second half has been marred by a couple of guys having small nagging injuries.

I am definitely worried as an A's fan coming down the stretch, but I understand why they made the moves that they did.

Who will the A's throw in a one game playoff if they can set their rotation?

I'd imagine Lester. His record with them hasn't been great, but he's took some really tough losses where he didn't get a lot of run support in lots of those as well.

So much for sabermetrics.

More like so much for injuries. Bullpen is banged up now that Lowrie is healthy, Vogt has been banged up. Health and unsustainable numbers from the first half are killing them. I still think they are a team no one wants to play in the playoffs if they're able to get there. We've seen them destroy teams offensively during the regular season only to fizzle out in the playoffs when rotations tighten and rosters expand.

I thought when they traded for Lester it was a big mistake. You don't trade your cleanup hitter midseason, when you have the best record in baseball. Huge gaffe IMO.

That trade and there slide go hand in hand. What's their record since then?

I know what you're saying there, but some of their problems of late have been the bullpen and one of the main culprits there is Chavez. Without the trade for Lester, he's part of their playoff rotations.

How many times have the A's either had a great, or even the best, record in baseball only to make a first round exit in the playoffs?

Dunn batting .286 with 2 HR and a .919 OPS since joining the A's

One explanation there could be because his new management knows which side of the plate to let him feast on.

Maybe he bats such a low % against lefties because managers trusted him to get it done then when it wasn't a good idea.
