Who cares who had more D-1 players? Who has more rings? South Warren will never have the program that BG has I don't care if you have 25 D-1 athletes.

 

Wo cares? Kids care, parents care, and even more important coaches SHOULD CARE.... Since when does winning football games and Championships outweigh getting kids College Tuition PAID FOR! You have just pointed out everything that is wrong with Bowling Green Purple Football!!! I can go around town, toss a Nickel and hit dozens of ex BGHS athletes who are now beggars in the street, drug addicts, in prison, etc... They got 1 or in some cases 2 CHAMPIONSHIP rings, Regional Championship seasons, etc but WHO CARES! The purpose of high school athletics is the potential of getting a FREE COLLEGE EDUCATION when it is all said and done.... If South Warren continues to put out more College Athletes, then they are the dominant program in my eyes....

I'm teaching my kids to get the best grades they can get in school and live to their potential as a high school student but I'll switch that up now. I always thought AAU and football camps is where the athletes got their free education from. Not from shutting out Logan County.(golf clap)

FIRST, I never said D-1 or bust... I simply said South has several D1 players IMO. If you look at my last post, I refer to kids having college paid for through sports, and not only D-1 scholarships.

SECONDLY, yes good grades will get you into college, but not every child has the combination of GPA+ACT score that allows their college to be paid for through academics.

THIRD, I never said South Warren TURNED anyone into D-1 athletes. Just because you type it and put little funny faces beside everything doesn't make it a fact.

FOURTH, what have the Purples done for you since you graduated/played sports there? I know countless people who BGHS rode the backs of to undefeated seasons who NEVER EVEN GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL!!! They allowed them to play until their Senior seasons on Non-Academic tracts and with poor grades, ultimately rendering them ineligible to graduate and/or go to college..... People here about the few success stories of this program, but know NOTHING of the numerous FAILURES! And by failures, I mean commitment to educating kids and getting them into ANY COLLEGE! Between 40-60 Seniors graduated over a 3 year span with 3 State Championships and only 5-6 Football Scholarships?????? The Purples don't have to do anything for me. I guess I'm considered one of the success stories. Everyone I attended school with graduated. Leman Boyd. Mitchell Dunn. David Clark. Eric Wolfe. Sam Steen. Lee Hightower. Casey Preston. Cornell Cullom. Kevin Willard was a year behind me. Those are all notable athletes I was in school with. I don't know anything about those allegations you are making and if true it is a shame. I can't say I am proud of everything my alma mater has done but my love for BG and my pride in BG is unwavering.

Doubletake, I appreciate your passion to promote South Warren and really any Warren County Team other than BG. And although I don't agree with a majority of what you type, I'm glad there is another voice out there promoting Warren County football. And I will admit that BG sucks the air out of the room on many occasions that leave the other local programs feeling slighted. But when you win like BG has you command that. I don't understand the "tearing down" approach you have on several posts about BG. Your statements about BGHS administration not helping its players to get to college surely is not true.

 

I honestly like South Warren. To my knowledge, SWarren and BG aren't scheduled to play each other. If South Warren can continue to improve their football program you will continue to win and can focus on that instead of focusing on "tearing down" BG.

The school's athletics have been very successful since opening the doors. Both boys and girls.
