Yes and while they will be classed in 4 a they will be in a district that will be closer to what they should be in with East, Central, ACS and Franklin Simpson. And yes they did get another gift from KHSAA.

Remind you BG's recent streak of success has come with these teams out of their classification as well. I know BG beat Hghlands around 94-96, but they had three straight losses in the 3A title game to Lex Cath, Highlands, and Cov Cath (not necessarily in that order).

IMHO, last year the Purples would have won any class with ease. The other two years (2011 & 2012) I'm not so sure. Highlands has some very strong teams those two years.

I'd certainly be surprised if Bowling Green and South Warren played prior to being in a district together in 2019. Teams from around here typically aren't going out of their way to play BG anymore unless they're in a district together. I have no inside knowledge but I would hope Warren Central will continue to play them out of district starting next year, as they have done in the past when they haven't been paired. But outside of bowl games, local teams here haven't scheduled them since 2010, and I don't expect that to change. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised when the schedules are released.

Bowling Green and Warren Central are under contract to continue their series in 2015 and '16. While South Warren will play in the Rafferty's Bowl in those same years, they will not be playing Bowling Green and declined a contract for a 2-year series. BGHS will play 7 non-district games in 2015 and '16. The non-district opposition for the Purples will include St. X, Warren Central, Owensboro, Pad. Tilghman, Christian County, Central Hardin, and the Rafferty's Bowl opponents (Monroe Co in '15, John Hardin in '16)

Talked to SW AD Chris Decker about something else -- he was interested in using something he was teaching in his class and he needed my help saving it from a website since he didn't have full access like I did -- and we got to talking about football scheduling.

 

Pretty sure SW is playing two of the three Hardins (Central, John, North) and maybe even keeping Elizabethtown (Elizabethtown will be pretty darn good in 2015 with what would be a loaded senior class and a second year in Mark Brown's system).

I would suspect that Smith and Decker would follow what Nelson has done try to slowly beef the schedule up every two years before they get into the 5 A District. I know the first two years they played WE, ACS, Logan, Russellville, Edmonson, Hart, Caverna, Adair, Monroe and Todd Central.

Last year and this they played East, Logan, Greenwood, E-town, Edmonson, Hart, Daviess, Adair, Monroe, and Russellville. Yes its still weak but much better than the first two years and I would suspect that next year they will make some major changes. Like I said I know they play John Hardin in Raferty's Bowl and half to play Warren Central, Warren East, Franklin Simpson and Allen County so that leave 5 games that I have not heard who they are placing on the schedule yet.
