Fraiture, Jessica

Yes? No? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

I believe she was injured and didn't try out.

Regardless she would not have been the keeper this year as NDA returned Hansel who was the starting keeper last year on the state championship team.

Another one of many great saves.

Interesting, hadn't heard that (to your former point).

My mistake, I thought last year's keeper was a senior, I apologize.

I could be wrong about both, but I think that is correct.

What is her name?

Always good to hear defenders get recognition.

Jessica Fracher (sp?)

Kudos to the Conner keeper, Ms. Jessica Fraiture. I'm sure she felt like it was 24 v 1 at times with the description of the relentless pressure ND had all game. :isurrender:

Now for the officiating. From the photos on Facebook, the ball and the keepers hands appear to be shielded to the AR by the keeper's body. So it makes one think back to U8 soccer and protecting the keeper first. Secondly, I'm not sure if the AR was in any referee organization authority over the center ref. I could understand the center deferring to the AR if the center was a kid. He was young but no kid. Ref under evaluation, getting a ride home from ate AR?

So with all the authority vested in me, to render a decision without being there or knowing any of the parties involved, I side with the instincts of the center ref and his original call.

This was the goal that was reversed. From my vantage point, it was impossible to tell if the goalie had her hand on the ball. One could only assume she did based on the way the play occurred. I thought the ref had the best vantage point over the side judge, yet the ref called it a goal then discussed with the side judge and overturned.

I'm not saying that THIS picture is definitive, but at least in this one it appears the GK has her hand on top of the ball (which may or may not constitute control -- all the non-refs can give your two cents here). Also, the AR in this frame would NOT appear to be shielded by the GK's body to have a view, but the Center MAY BE shielded by the #20's body at this point. I'm not saying it should or should not have been a goal. The officials were there and made the call. I'm just saying we don't always have the full (or best) picture from the stands or monitors on BGP.

Kim seems to be injury prone. If I recall, she had injuries in grade school as well. Her and Vandergriff are both St. Mary alums. :thumb:

How awesome for Conner's keeper! They don't always get the recognition they deserve, but they sure catch a lot of blame! Rock on, Jessica! These pics are amazing! That is an impressive score over NDA.

I didn't see this game, but I saw her against the Tigers. She is excellent.

The AR should be online with the ball or last defender. This often gives them the better view of shots on goal. It is their responsibility to determine if the ball crosses the goal line. Center ref calls possesion. It would not be improper to consult with the AR on a questionable shot. It could be possible that both may have been out of position.

Great pictures, too!

I couldn't tell from my angle and this picture really validates how hard it would be to tell from the stands. I thought the keeper was reaching out but due to my eyes and age I couldn't say anything definitive. I think the photo goes a long way in validating the refs and I thought they did a good job of calling the game. No one is perfect and certainly some calls are missed but I think they did well overall.

The keeper played excellent and did a tremendous job and battled the entire game. The EXCELLENT pictures back this up.

Great game to watch by both teams.
