How did Pirtle look?

He;s going to force teams to run opposite side. He looked good, and very physical.

I'm not surprised by this result as I think DeSales handled Meade pretty easily last year also. I know Meade lost a lot of kids so it will be interesting to see how they do this year. It looks like DeSales is in the midst of some really strong teams. I really wish they were playing John Hardin again this year.

First of all it was 14-7 1st team against 1st team. Second, the touchdown catch in the end zone was dropped. Even the Desales coach after the game said that. It was a very physical game. Desales is a good team and should do well this year. Both teams shuttled players in (It was a Scrimmage) Meade's truely first team was not on the field all the time. Meade shuttled alot of 2d team players in alternating with the 1st team every other series. So if you want to add the JV team score go ahead, but the 1st team score was 14-7. Desales longest run was 15 yards..Meade's was 65yards (Meade's Fullback had 90+ yards on 9 carries & 1 TD). Desales is a good team but they didn't man handle the Meade Defense nor were they more physical. Penalties hurt Meade more than Desales Offense or Defense. Desales looked nothing like last year. Pirtle looks hugh, is quick off the ball and is a good player and will make alot of plays this year...physical?? I didn't see it. He was more quick than physical.

Actually it was 31 - 6. I was generous giving you a point. You got one long run on a 4th and 1. yes your fullback made a nice gain for the TD. That's all you got. Both teams were shuffling 1st and 2nd teams in after the break. It was 28-6 at that point. Our JV scored the field goal. We didn't even play Nord at QB. We used Johnson the whole way. You didn't see physical huh, so you missed him picking up your back and laying him gently on the ground? lol He was in your backfield all night! Take the green glasses off. We beat you last year, and this year. Not bad for a little ole 2A team against a big bad 6A team.

I have admired your team since last year but I honestly don't agree with the DeSales is just a 2A team against a 5A or 6A team. Don't you think DeSales being a private school gives you a certain advantage over some of the public schools. DeSales may be small but let's be honest, I am sure a lot of athletes that would normally not be going to that school are there for various reasons. This is by no means me picking a fight or argument, but most 2A schools don't have the numbers or talent you guys had last year and probably this year.

2A vs 6A really doesnt matter...that's just about popoulation in the school. No you need to watch the tape yes I agree he made a few plays here and there..and yes he looks imposing..and yes he got in the back field a few times on missed assignments. But physical no!!! A matter of fact I think Meade's Fullback carried half your team 5 yards for a first down to include #8. You should really watch the tape. Really you only scored 3 TDs on the 1st or 2nd team..and one was dropped but the ref called it a TD. We were shuffling in our 2d team players way before the break. He laided the back down after the whistle..LoL. Again Desales is a good team...but again the score was really only 14-7 if u don't count the missed call on the TD in the corner of the endzone.

It does not matter when we are talking about private schools without boundaries.

Let's not get into the Public vs Private debate again. Us Privates aren't going to change your mind, and you Public's aren't going to change ours. I really wish we were playing JH instead of Grayson County this year.

Probably not. It would have been better for you guys to play either us or Central Hardin because you will have a running clock on Grayson County by halftime or early in the 3rd quarter.

I honestly don't know much about Grayson. But i agree that it would prepare us better to play either JH or CH.

Grayson is a run first, wishbone type team. Very few athletes. Smart and well coached, but limited in what they can do. They are in our district and we play them every year. They got torched in their scrimmage with Warren East, something like 41-7 at halftime. If I were DeSales I would play 9 guys in the box and make them try to throw the ball.
