Middle School ejections carry over to high school if the suspension cannot be enforced in a subsequent sport (like if he plays basketball, he'd sit out the next basketball games since football is over)??

I knew that was the case in high school. I guess with the KHSAA moving into middle school sports, those middle school ejections would get recorded.

Correct. I think the NKY league has the sport to next sport rule, but the new reg treats them just like HS.

I never realized that Tichenor has had that much success!! Congrats! Where are all these kids going in High School, not saying Lloyd is bad, but they should be having alot more success than they are.

I would like to congreulate the Tichenor Middle School on winning the Large School Championship.

Tichenor in five years of the programs birth has a record of 40-4 with four Championship three

undefeated season.A 2A School in size this season moving up to the large school divison.

I'd like to congratulate Tichenor on their championship as well. Better team won, Turkeyfoot just couldn't get their offense going and Tichenor was the reason why. But I have a question about something that happened in the game.

 

Early in the 3rd quarter Turkeyfoot was having a little success moving the ball, score was 12-8 at that time. They had a 4th down play on that drive which I thought got the first down or was very close from my vantage point. Everyone around thought it was close, Tichenor and Turkeyfoot folks alike. However the referees didn't even measure for it. You'd think in a championship football game they'd at least give a little courtesy of a measurement. Ball was turned over to Tichenor and at that moment any momentum, if any, was killed for Turkeyfoot and they really did not recover. I know some coaches for Turkeyfoot and asked them why the head ref did not measure, they simply said he refused. Don't get me wrong here, I'm NOT saying this was a reason for Turkeyfoot's defeat. It was not, but it was one of those moments in a game that could have been a momentum swing. A lot of us were surprised by the no measurement. I also realize this is middle school football, but it was a championship game and if the 4th down play is that close, why not at least have the common courtesy to give the team a measurement if they ask?

On a turf field with all the markings measurements are rarely necessary, especially if the ball and the first down marker is spotted on the yard markers. If both the spot and the to go marker is in between yard markers, then measurements may be necessary. I can't remember the last time I saw a measurement on a turf field.

No I wasn't. But my statement still stands....on a turf field with all the markings (yard marks on the hashes and sidelines) you don't often need measurements. Didn't say never. The only time it ever happens is if the ball is spotted between yard markers AND the to go stick is in between yards. Typically though, the to go stick is on a yard marker, and if the ball is spotted at or beyond that yard, it's a first down. If it's short it isn't. It's pretty easy and clear to see. Some turf fields don't have yard markers (Beechwood comes to mind) and many grass fields don't have the marks either. In those cases, you see measurements more often

I'm not taking away nothing from Ludlow, you guys had a nice team. Just doesn't look good when an 8th grade boy is ejected and the fans are standing up cheering. Even if you were cheering for the big hit, it looked like it could have been taken either way. The Ludlow fans should be proud of their team, they had a great season. I thought the call was a little ticky tacky anyway, but that's their call on the field.

If it was a hit on the field before the whistle, then I could see why fans would cheer for the big hit because they probably wouldn't think he should be tossed, so I am not sure how that looks bad. However if he was ejected for hitting a kid after the play, then yes cheering makes no sense.

The player got a personal foul unsportsman like penalty prior to this hit and then delivered this big hit and walked over the player as getting up and got another personal foul pentalty therefore resulting in being ejected from the game I personally was a fan cheering during this time for the big hit not for the fact of being ejected! The Bracken County parents where the parents cheering when he was announced ejected!
