Awful injury. I wish I could un-watch what I just saw. Sick to my stomach.

Apparently the support was 2 feet 2 inches closer than the NBA standard. That's a lot of extra space...

How can that be fixed? Is it possible to move the supports back and still maintain the integrity of the support they provide? Move it too far back and a thunderous dunk could topple the whole goal couldn't it?

Is that the spacing used in international competition?

I don't think so. The way they were talking, it's just a small footprint.

I saw someone bring up the Nerlens Noel injury on twitter. Makes me wonder how many major injuries have happened involving the goal support.

Terrible injury. Gruesome. But everyone keeps saying leg and I keep rewinding it and I thought it was the ankle that snapped. Worst ankle injury I've ever seen.

Looked to me as if it was at the top of his sock...just below the middle of his shin.

I'm thinking his tibia and fibula were both fractured.

I'm looking at a still picture of it now. It's higher up the leg from the ankle. Looks like his shin.

Yep. Right at the sock line.

Owners and GMs united tonight: Paul George injury could be tipping point for use of stars in international play. "Game-changer," GM told me.

It's shameful if they do that but that's the norm in America. We overreact better than anyone on the planet. One major injury in over 20 years of NBA players playing for Team USA and these crybaby owners want to shut it down.
