If Plumlee makes this team over Boog at the same spot, it's gotta be so K can sit in a recruits living room and say that he puts guys into the NBA and the Olympic (trial) team.

I agree, it would be a great point for Cal if he could say 3-4 of his guys made Team USA when talking to recruits. If K could keep that to 1 (which looks likely) it would pretty much negate any recruiting advantage to be gained from having players on Team USA.

 

I'd like to think that Coach K isn't looking at it that way and would just take the best team.

Are they cutting both Drummond and Cousins for Plumlee? The two best young big men in the game ? All I know is if I were plumlee I would play sick anytime he has to play the Kings next year. Cousins might drop 40 on him and take a blood sample.

Nah he doesn't need it...but I think coaches use everything in their ability when they are recruiting. Don't you think if Rose, Davis, Wall and Boogie made it Cal would probably bring it up from time to time during recruiting, that he coached 1/3 of Team USA?

I think Boogie earned his spot this past season . But I can live with his snub. I can't live with Mason Plumlee on Team USA. There are at least 10 bigs I could name who I would take first who weren't even invited to camp. He was a below average player who averaged 7pts and 3 boards for an under performing Nets team.

 

I'm serious if Davis gets hurt or in foul trouble Plumlee will be called on to play against Marc Gasol . Are are kidding. I truly believed going into camp they were going to pick between Cousins and Drummond and only one would make it .

 

Honest question does any other coach in America pick Plumlee for this team ? I respect Coach K but am I suppose to believe his personal relationship with Mason doesn't play a part in this . If this was purely a basketball move then Coach K is off his rocker.

Championship rings carry more way more weight than saying my guys got picked to play on a politically chosen Team USA team that played in the World Championships in 2014.

I agree about Miles. The role they are saying Mason will play , Miles was actually much better at with the Suns last year.

Well folks; if you base the decision off that first half of this scrimmage, I think it's safe to say Mason Plumlee shouldn't be picked over anyone on this floor.
