July 21, 201412 yr So, got anything on the actual information cited? So all these right-wing clowns on Fox who wear flag pins in their lapels ... their parent company contributes zilch to the overall health and welfare of the USA because of its 150-plus offshore tax havens.
July 21, 201412 yr So all these right-wing clowns on Fox who wear flag pins in their lapels ... their parent company contributes zilch to the overall health and welfare of the USA because of its 150-plus offshore tax havens. "So, got anything on the actual information cited". Guess not. I'm shocked.
July 21, 201412 yr This thread is the perfect example of why my dislike for both Republicans and Democrats grows exponentially daily. Instead of actual debate/discussion we get unintelligent insults hurled from one another that are things you'd expect to see come from a 5 year old. This kinda crap is why our country is in the shape it's in.
July 21, 201412 yr "So, got anything on the actual information cited". Yes. You're in error. I just avoided piling on, but since you're demanding a response ... ********** "The 1994 elections in the United States were held on November 8, 1994. This was the year known as the Republican Revolution, in which members of the Republican Party captured majorities in the House, Senate and governors mansions. Republicans were able to gain eight Senate seats, fifty-four House seats, and ten governorships."

He said the roots were sown during the Clinton administration. The financial crises was the result of one of the few bi-partisan efforts of the last 30 years. Now, since you're so great at answering questions I'm still waiting on 3 things that Obama has done to help corporations which lead to the great market surge you cited.

I agree with your last paragraph but in defense, Doomer insinuated that it was all because of Clinton and the Dems. But he did so by incorrectly stating he had a Dem Congress when he did not. Could have overlooked it if he hadn't been a little smug about erroneous myths. FWIW, you hit the nail on the head about bi-partisan mistakes.
July 22, 201412 yr President Obama's business-related accomplishments (75center asked for three. Whew! Hard to pick just three!) Instituted the massive TARP financial and banking rescue plan, and recovered virtually all of its costs. He created the Making Home Affordable home refinancing plan. Obama oversaw the creation of more jobs in 2010 alone than Bush did in eight years. He oversaw a bailout of General Motors that saved at least 1.4 million jobs, and put pressure on the company to change its practices, resulting in GM returning to its place as the top car company in the world. Obama also doubled funding for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership which is designed to improve manufacturing efficiency. He signed the Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act giving the federal government more tools to investigate and prosecute fraud in every corner of the financial system. It also created a bipartisan Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission to investigate the financial fraud that led to the economic meltdown. Obama signed the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) Act, which was designed to protect consumers from unfair and deceptive credit card practices. He increased infrastructure spending after years of neglect. Obama signed the Helping Families Save Their Homes Act, expanding on the Making Home Affordable Program to help millions of Americans avoid preventable foreclosures. The bill also provided $2.2 billion to help combat homelessness, and to stabilize the housing market. Through the Worker, Home Ownership, and Business Assistance Act of 2009, Obama and Congressional Democrats provided tax credits to first-time home buyers, which helped the U.S. housing market recovery. He initiated a $15 billion plan designed to encourage increased lending to small businesses. Obama created business.gov, which allows for online collaboration between small businesses and experts re managing a business. (The program has since merged with SBA.gov.) He played a lead role in getting the G-20 Summit to commit to a $1.1 trillion deal to combat the global financial crisis. Obama took steps to improve minority access to capital. He created a $60 billion bank to fund infrastructure improvements such as roads and bridges. He implemented an auto industry rescue plan, and saved as many as 1 million jobs. Many are of the opinion that he saved the entire auto industry, and even the economy of the entire Midwest. Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Obama saved at least 300,000 education jobs, such as teachers, principals, librarians, and counselors that would have otherwise been lost. Source: addictinginfo.org. Funny source from someone who rides FOX. Now, rather than regurgitating something it took you days to find on Google, care to explain how they helped business and what the results have been? Also, lots of false information there, care to support it with facts rather than opinions and show how it lead to the stock market rise?

Now, rather than regurgitating something it took you days to find on Google, care to explain how they helped business and what the results have been? Also, lots of false information there, care to support it with facts rather than opinions and show how it lead to the stock market rise? My favorite is No. 16 -- the president not only saved the auto industry, he also saved the economy of the entire Midwest. We're not talking about cutting a little red tape here, bub. We're talking about keeping people out of soup lines. As far as the rise in the stock market, it wouldn't bother me a bit to see my portfolio lose value if Uncle Sam seriously goes after the tax avoiders who are setting up tax shelters in the Cayman Islands.
July 22, 201412 yr Perhaps you should peruse John Kerry and his bride's off shore accounts before you toss another liberal stone.

FWIW, you hit the nail on the head about bi-partisan mistakes. The legislation was passed prior to the 1994 republican changeover (1993). I blamed neither ther republicans nor the democrats. I simply pointed out that to SOLELY link the 2008 financial crisis to the administration at that time is popular, but not factual. (I can't find the smug emoticon.)
