Louisville Regional

The only problem I have with Henderson is that he can never put a whole team together. Last year the pitching was great and the offense stunk. This year the O was lights out and the pitching was a disaster until the SEC tourney. UK never had the depth to their to make a deep NCAA run.

2 incoming pitchers were drafted and didn't come to UK. That hurt

I noted that earlier, but some of the guys that are here now didn't get it done when it needed to be.

I'd say they had a pretty good year without those 2.

They were mediocre until the SEC tournament. They were a 9 seed, almost didn't even make the thing

6 seasons at UK. 196-149. If I'm not mistaken this maybe his first regional since coming to UK another thing, I've seen high school kids play better than some of these players that's on UK's team

Well you are mistaken because they were in a regional two years ago too. Also you have admitted you havent watched them much. So I dont see how you can make such comments that you have questioning hiw good reed is and now saying some high school players are better than players on a team that was one of the best offenses in the nation and just played in the regional finals on national tv. Did they make some mistakes tonight that they normally make sure. However these kids were also star players on their high school teams just like high school players you have seen. The errora they made tonight were bad but is not a normal thing.

So its very strange for you to make such strong comments on the coach and players of this team when you admittedly know nothing about them since you rarely saw them play.

SEC is one of the top conferences. It had 10 bids to the national tournament.

^ And at least four hosted regionals that I can think of off the top of my head. The Southeast and West Coast are the hotbeds of baseball talent in 21st century America. That fact shines through clearly in college baseball.

I haven't watched much college baseball because they refuse to show it on tv, which is pretty dumb IMO. If they can show women's basketball they should be able to show college baseball.

I just asked what made Reed the best player in the nation because he was having an off night. Some of the players I seen playing last night, didn't look that good at all but they could have been having an off night.

^ There were two conference players of the year in the game last night and both looked pretty rough. Louisville's Jeff Gardener... heck I don't know that he ever even had a decent at-bat. Off night for both him and Reed. But Reed was victimized by Louisville's shift in a way that was almost remarkable.

Kennesaw State (yes, Kennesaw State) beats Alabama 4-2 and heads to the super regional to face Louisville.

I went down on Friday to experience a CWS game and catch the UofL/Kent State game. We got down there right at 6pm (scheduled start for UL/KS) but due to the weather, they had cleared the stadium during the UK/KU game in the bottom of the 5th. So my friend and I went across the street to Beef O' Brady's and grabbed some 2 for 1 beers. About 630/645 they reopened the stadium so we went over and bought our tickets for the UL/KS game. Due to the weather delays UofL decided to let those with tickets to that game in to watch the conclusion of the UK game. After the UK game they cleared the stadium so once again we made the walk across the street. Had a few beers then went back to the stadium.

I ended up running into and chatting with Coach Petrino. He was as nice as could be during my conversation with him. And his daughters are absolutely smoking...

Overall, it was an extremely great trip. Got one and a half games for the price of one, had 2 for 1 beers and got to see some pretty great baseball. It definitely won't be my last CWS game to attend.
