June 2, 201412 yr The two plays aren't comparable. The UL catcher had the ball , had a chance to see the runner get ready to barrel into him, and then react. The UL player cut the guys knees. He wasn't sliding. He wasn't starting to slide.
June 2, 201412 yr You all can say what you want, one player was ejected, one wasn't. The ump was front and center for both. The UofL base runner could have been ejected just as easily if the umpire saw it necessary. If one play was dirty, so was the other.

June 2, 201412 yr By the rules Bernal was 100% correct in getting ejected. The UL player should be too... His attempt was so weak. Also if the rule is like others have mentioned, he didnt avoid contact at all
