Greenwood softball coach Penny Reece's suspension will continue throughout the remainder of the season.

Not for sure if I did the link correct or not.

Greenwood's Reece Suspension Extended

For what reason stepscalled?

I'm here in Bowling Green and haven't heard a thing

What can you tell us about the issues?

Many inquiring minds want to know.

My niece that's a junior at Greenwood said "A girl come in with a Dr. note saying she could not run but Coach Reece made her run anyways."

Suspension warranted.

Suspension warranted.

Yep. Even going 44-0 doesn't get you a pass when dealing with player health/safety.

Especially when the pitcher that broke her back in 2012 pitched, or at least got the win, in 32 of the 44 despite her injury.

From the outside looking in, its a mess. I think it is all who you talk to and then what you believe. Its a sad situation with a lot of rumors flying everywhere and I'm not even close to Bowling Green. I know Coach Reese and feel like that she would do what most coaches would do when given a doctors limited practice note. Most coaches would encourage the player to do what they can do and not exceed what the note says. I think it occurred early in the year and now late in the year. I don't know any other details, I posted it because they had such a great year last year, and it appears they will not return to state tournament this year along with Owensboro Catholic.

Looking forward to an interesting state tournament.

I'll say they will still win the 4th Region. Too many good players, and the competition in the 4th is not that strong. If by chance they do not, then the internal strife is deeper than anyone outside the GW dugout realizes.

From what I hear the injured girl had no problem working out for a college that came to see her.

Unless she worked out the same day then this is irrelevant.

What ever the player did on her own has zero to do with the coach's decision.
