Former Georgia defensive back Shaq Wiggins and Texas A&M wide receiver JaQuay Williams have both decided to transfer to Louisville after visiting together the past two days. Both were high school teammates at Georgia's Sandy Creek High School. Both will enroll this summer and sit out the upcoming 2014 season and then be eligible to play three years beginning with the 2015 season. They join fellow Georgia transfer Josh Harvey-Clemons in sitting the upcoming season out to be ready for 2015."

2015 is going to be interesting.

Petrino has always been known to bring in transfers. I like the idea, especially when they are quality players.

Shaquille O'neal should get royalties for all the kids name after him.

You know you're struggling with legitimacy as a big program when you're building off transfers.

 

Some will get mad at this quote but it's true. Every program gets them and when you're starting out do whatever you can to get the ball rolling. Can't do it long term though. Programs are built through recruiting.

Never said it was struggling. Just said that if this is the plan for the future it probably won't go well. Hard to build or maintain a program on transfers. Guys usually don't transfer just because they like another school better.

As you said, EVERY school gets transfers. I'm not sure how these particular transfers (other than the fact that it involves Louisville) infer that this is the "plan for the future." No coach is going to make a habit of turning away 4 star recruits.

 

In terms of transferring to be closer to family, College Station is almost 13 hours from Atlanta (just using that as a center point in GA). Louisville is half that far from ATL. I'd say that solves the problem.

Any time that a new coach takes over a program and brings in a whole new staff, there are gonna be transfers. It just so happens that UofL brings in quality transfers.

I'd absolutely be lying if I said I wasn't concerned about the lack of high-profile recruits and instead bringing in a lot of transfers. It limits you in the long-term. It concerns me.

 

But this is the business we've chosen.

I think only one was arrested but don't think it was a major issue.
