Petrino will be fine. High amount of transfers is due to the coaching changes. being in the ACC and Petriono being a great offensive mind, high profile recruits will be coming our way.

Petrino's best players through the years have been a kid that he's saw potential in while others didn't. Lots of his best players were under-recruited kids from Florida or Georgia that he saw something in and went with it.

 

He's not going to go into living rooms and wow parents as a recruiter, especially after the Arkansas situation, but he's a guy who'll pick his spots in recruiting and is usually good at doing so.

You know you're struggling with legitimacy as a big program when you're building off transfers.

 

Some will get mad at this quote but it's true. Every program gets them and when you're starting out do whatever you can to get the ball rolling. Can't do it long term though. Programs are built through recruiting.

 

I would contend its tougher to build a program in the best conference in football going to Ohio and recruiting players OSU and Michigan dont want, stealing them from Indiana and Illinois.

They beat two ACC opponents in 2006-07 (Miami, Wake), and handily. I hear what you are saying, but let's not write off what he's doing before the season has even started.
