Any particular reason(s)?

I hope I'm wrong, I really do. I just am going off a very limited portion of games I've watched over the past 2 years of UL games and he just didn't really impress me much. He made some very good throws and then would seem to follow it up with some very bad and inaccurate passes not even close to the recievers. Just too inconsistent when it comes to his passing game to me.

Im really rooting for this kid though, he seems so humble and nice and the story with him and his mom had me in tears. I love the kid, I just don't think he is where he needs to be right now football wise. He does have one great thing going for him, he has a HC that will treat him like a son and add tthe fact he has AP also should make the transition a little better.

is what I see when I watch Teddy. He is very Andy Dalton like, great at short passes and very inaccurate at the deep ball.

So you're basing your opinion off one game?

So you're basing your opinion off one game?

Read my post about why. Thanks

Just because I show 1 game has nothing to do with what I said originally. Also so it be known, I went after I posted what I originally said and went to youtube to find any video of Teddy to show what I was talking about and this one happened to be the first one that came up. Pretty interesting that the very first video that came up happens to show exactly what I talked about before even seeing this video.

I understand you are a UL fan and all. As I said I hope and pray he has a fantastic NFL career. I really like Teddy. Just because I state my opinion doesn't mean I don't want him to succeed. That is something many misunderstand about me. I tend to speak the truth and because of that people tend to think I'm a hater when it couldn't be further from the truth. Look at things I said about Beecwhood baseball this year....I love Beechwood, I went to Beechwood, I played for Beechwood. Just because I state truth about teams or players doesn't mean I don't like them. Same thing happened when I predicted a Cooper loss in any sport, it happens, I'm not a biased supporter, I take more flack for going against teams or players I like when basing my decisions off of fact than you would ever know.

You can certainly pick him as a bust, that is your opinion. I was just trying to say that you saying he is inaccurate as the basis of your opinion, is well, inaccurate... In 2013 he was 2nd in the country at 71%, in 2012 he was 6th at 69%, and in his Freshman season he was at 29th with a 65% completion rate.

I think Teddy is in a mediocre to poor sitiatuation. He does benefit from the best RB in the league to alleviate the pressure. I think he struggles with progressions. I think he can make the throws. I wish him well, but am not expecting a terrific year, nor career from Teddy. I'd love to see him get to a second contract.

Acclimating to the speed of the game and how quick you make your reads will be a struggle for most QB's I'd think. Teddy will definitely have his work cut out for him there.

Boom: Eric Ebron - TE - North Carolina to Detroit Lions

Bust: Sammy Watkins - WR - Clemson to Buffalo Bills

I say Ebron because the tight end position is really evolving in the NFL and he fits the mold of a big, athletic tight end who can make the catch and then run. Too quick for a linebacker and too big for a corner or safety, he's a guy who has the tools to be a real weapon.

I say Watkins because of his injury history, some criminal charges, and the fact that he wasn't a solidified #1 over Deandre Hopkins in college. I wouldn't label him a 'bust' so quickly if Buffalo hadn't mortgaged the future by trading up to get him. In trading up, he essentially cost the Bills two first round selections.

One of the biggest things that concerns me with Teddy in Minnesota is that they'll be playing their games outdoors over the next two seasons, and I don't know how he'll throw the ball in the weather. I've mentioned before that he has smaller hands, which is also a concern for a guy who'll be asked to throw it in the elements (because of concerns over his grip and feel). Like others have mentioned, he benefits from having the best running back in the league on his team, so he's in a good situation as far as that goes.

I think Bortles has far more of an upside than Gabbert ever did.

I really like and respect Trent Dilfer. Anyone who has listened to his commentary on Sirius or ESPN will probably understand why.

I thought he raised an interesting point on Blaine Gabbert and how he was "fooled" by Gabbert (which came up when Dilfer evaluated Derek Carr this season). He said that in assessing Gabbert, he overlooked how badly he played against pressure (i.e., a solid pass rush where he had to step up in the pocket and make a throw while standing in and taking the hit). He thought that this was an area that explained Gabbert's less than stellar performance in the professional ranks and was something that he noticed after the fact, but took away as a learning moment.

You can certainly pick him as a bust, that is your opinion. I was just trying to say that you saying he is inaccurate as the basis of your opinion, is well, inaccurate... He is very accurate with short passes, it's the down field throws that he isn't very good on. when you throw the majority of your passes short then you can have great accuracy stats, but I see what I see and that is what I'm going on.

In this day and age of the rules in the NFL, a avg at best QB can put up great numbers because the defense can't cover receivers like they used to be able to do. Look at Andy Dalton's accuracy numbers, they are much better than the reality of him as a QB in the league.
