The panthers have made a splash of a hire in Brown. I look for them to win 8-9 games and make a deep playoff run for the next two years. They have a ton of kids coming back and the new wing-t look will get the kids off the hardwood and on the turf! Gonna be a good run for the panthers!

This. Their biggest threats are going to be South Warren, Central and Glasgow, but it wouldn't shock me one single bit to see them go 2-1 in that stretch, with one of the losses vs. them be the only loss of their season.

Loaded.

Thing is, they will be even better in 15.

I know there are some wing-t lovers in the world but you have really drank some extra strong cool aid to suggest that it will attract basketball players who didn't play before. I call bullcrap.

Man, I'd love nothing more than to see Wing T (even wishbone teams) team live on the edge a little bit w/ screens, throwbacks, long balls, etc that are all parts of the offense; but, are just a little risky for most. Nothing better than seeing an old school offense who bangs it, bangs it, bangs it...then throw it 10-12 times a game for what are usually home runs.

Thing. Of. Beauty.

This is the trademark of a Mark Brown offense and it has been nearly perfected at John Hardin over the years. If Elizabethtown actually has the athletes you say they do, then they will excel under Brown's Wing-T offense.

hoss how many basketball players came out at John Hardin that had not played football before?

Winning gets players out! You can spread it out and throw it 50 times a game but if you are getting your backside handed to you it is no fun. Nothing wrong with the Wing T, coach brown will do just fine running his offense.

That's difficult to say since he was the only coach the school had since it opened.

I don't believe I have seen anyone in this thread say there is anything wrong with the wing-t. Point it out if I missed it. My statement, that I am sticking to, is that 13-17 year old BASKETBALL players will not be coming out for football BECAUSE of the new offense. The last offense was apparently pretty ground based as well so nothing has changed in that regard.

Yes and no. I agree that if you are losing, then kids may not play regardless of what you do. However, I have seen programs that were VERY successful but the skill kids, basketball types, didn't want to go out and stalk block for 2 hours. Doesn't mean that will be the case at Etown though.

John is a football school. Most male athletes come for football with the winter and spring sports benefiting. We have several basketball starters each year that are football players.

I did not know Brown took over at Etown.

Man what a home run hire! Go ahead and put Etown into the conversation in the new 3A and make that class even more impressive. Brown will make them a fine program with the talent already walking the halls.
