That's where the Pro-Life group misses the boat on the debate IMO. The vast majority of people that are Pro-Choice do not support abortion.

Technically since the prisoner is dead then would it not be called a successful execution?

To this point, if you don't mind my asking, do you identify yourself as a Christian? If so...there is a whole lot of reason behind my response.

 

I know this is not the Religion forum, BUT......I need to say that, in the eyes of God, we are all guilty and deserve death. Whenever we stray from God's plan (no matter how slight or small), it is considered evil in His eyes. God cannot have anything less than perfection in his presence and we fail EVERY SINGLE DAY in some manner. Thank God that He sent His Son, Jesus, to take the death sentence meant for us so that we can LIVE with Him forever. All we need to do his confess and accept God's "plea bargin" for us individually.

For me, there's no way to know what that person's life will be like or what he may be capable of... even if he spends the rest of his life in prison.

 

Regarding death... "Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends."

You know, I agree with you on that. I can't think of any sane person that supports aborting the life of a child (even though thousands and thousands use it as a form of birth control every year)...but they do support others rights to kill their own unborn children.

Both Moses and King David were murderers. Proof that even God sees that there is more to a person's life than a single, horrible act.

 

1 Peter 3:9

"Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult."

 

Romans 12:20-21

"If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

 

Matthew 5:38-45

"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
